Huang Pu's former residence is located in huangxia village, Guohuan Town, Putian City, Fujian Province. It used to be a famous Confucian Residence in Tang Dynasty. Later, it was built as Huang Pu ancestral temple, with 5 rooms wide and 3 entrances, covering an area of 1000 square meters. It is made of single eaves and hard mountain, and has a lifting beam structure. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in all dynasties. The existing building was built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty.

Huang Pu's poems are well-known in his time. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, when Huang Chao led a righteous soldier to Huang Pu's house at night, he knew that he was a great scholar and ordered the sergeant to blow out the torch. He walked over quietly without disturbing him. An uprising leader who made the whole prosperous Tang Dynasty shake the earth and mountains, respectfully extinguished the torch for a scholar, we can imagine Huang Pu's knowledge and character.

The famous Confucianist, more because this family in Huang Pu since Tang Dashun two years after the Jinshi, continued for several generations, has been in the imperial examination road triumphant. In the Song Dynasty, the descendants of Huang Pu rebuilt their former residence, which covers an area of 1000 square meters. Outside the gate, a pair of boulders are carved with the pattern of "dragon" with exquisite carving. On the lintels of the two doors, a stone forehead is embedded, and the words "Wuju" (Huangpu Wuju) and "Guiyin" are engraved in regular script respectively. The handwriting is beautiful, and the stone color is yellow. It should be the original of the house when it was built. In June 1993, Huang Pu's former residence was listed as the second batch of cultural relics protection units in Putian City. Walking into the former residence, you can see carved beams and painted buildings with magnificent momentum; the beams, brackets, gold pillars, column bases and other objects are very distinctive (see Figure 2). Although they have been carved for thousands of years, the carvings on them are still exquisite. The bell and tripod ritual vessels stored in the hall represent the life ideal of the people of Huangxiang at that time: excellent learning makes an official, and the descendants of the Huang family seem to be the firm executors of this ideal. On a pair of stone pillars in front of the gate of Huang Pu's former residence, a couplet is engraved, which reads: "one five scholars, three generations and four fu masters". It tells that after Huang Pu was promoted to Chongwen Pavilion scholar in the early qianning period of Tang Dynasty (894), renwo, the second son of his eight sons, was the official teacher of Prince Zhengzi; rentao, the third son, was the official censor Zhongcheng; Renzao, the fourth son, was the official writer of Zhuolang; Renwei, the seventh son, was the author of Zhuolang. Four people and their father were in the same position in the library, known as "five scholars in one subject". Huang Pu is the author of Wuju subset and biography of Mingshi in Minchuan, which is the earliest chronicle of Fujian Province. Huang Pu is the first scholar in the history of Putian and even Fujian.
