Yunqiao wetland
Chengdu Yunqiao water source wetland care area is jointly advocated by international environmental protection organizations and Chengdu local public welfare organization Kanghua community development center. It is supported by environmental protection, forestry and other functional departments in Pixian County to participate in the retained natural wild wetland ecosystem. With the rise and fall of water level in Dujiangyan irrigation system, the system nourishes hundreds of species of wild animals and plants, including some species with high protection and scientific research value in Chengdu Plain.
Yunqiao wetland
Location and overview
In Yunqiao village, xinminchang Town, Pixian County, near sandaoyan town. Baitiao River and Xuyan River, the main water sources of Chengdu, flow from west to East through the whole village. Yunqiao wetland is located in the narrowest part of two important rivers in Chengdu, namely Baitiao River and Xuyan river. Baitiao River, one of the main channels of the inner river system in the Minjiang River Basin, is one of the two rivers "crossing the two rivers in Chengdu" by Li Bing. Xuyan river is the main branch of zouma River, another of the two rivers. Over the years, it has experienced changes from river to cultivated land. More than 60 years ago, it was the ancient river bed of Xuyan river. In 1951, in order to prevent the flood disaster in the lower reaches, local villagers began to renovate the river course of Xuyan river. Since then, the ancient river bed has been gradually used for farming by villagers. In 1985, due to its unique geographical location and superior environment, Xuyan River and Baitiao River were selected as the source river of drinking water in Chengdu, and Chengdu No.6 waterworks The water intake was built here, and the underground water pipeline raised the underground water level, which made the farmland in the low place stagnant all the year round and no longer suitable for agricultural cultivation. So far, the permanent wetland prototype of perennial water gradually formed.
The sixth waterworks supplies more than 70% of the drinking water in Chengdu. To ensure the safety of the water intake of the sixth waterworks ensures the safety of the drinking water source in Chengdu.
Moreover, Yunqiao wetland is a rare natural wetland around Chengdu City, which is of historical significance to the study of Chengdu Plain characteristic biodiversity landscape.
Ecological status of Yunqiao
Yunqiao wetland has a good natural ecological environment, which is a high-quality area for the growth and life of a variety of animals and plants. There are many local unique species, which has great scientific research value and economic value. At the same time, this wetland is also an important local genetic gene pool, which is of great significance for maintaining the survival and screening of wild species.
There are more than 110 species of wild plants in the wetland, and more than 130 species of wild plants are recorded.
Since the restoration of Yunqiao wetland started, the investigation and monitoring of wild animals have been continuously carried out, and the species list has been increasing. As of August 2013, there are 8 species of wild mammals, 110 species of wild birds, 10 species of amphibians and reptiles, 5 species of fish, and more than 90 species of insects in Yunqiao wetland, such as Ziling goby, Ze frog, noisy reed warbler, purple pseudoephemera, etc. The first case of Bruchus cinerarius and reed warbler in Chengdu Plain was observed and recorded.
Nature Education
Since 2012, Intel products (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. has cooperated with Chengdu Kanghua community development center to carry out wetland water conservation in Yunqiao. In July 2013, it officially launched the "Le Shui yuan" conservation project in Yunqiao wetland water conservation area, and produced "here is Yunqiao wetland Chengdu plain natural culture book" for the promotion of nature education and wetland protection . And then started the Yunqiao 2.0 project, went into the school, explained the natural knowledge to everyone, and led the students into the Yunqiao wetland to learn about the main water sources in Chengdu. So that more people can understand and participate in Yunqiao wetland and its nursing work.
"I explore and love nature" launched on November 28, 2014 will bring more wetland knowledge to 12 primary and secondary schools in Chengdu, which is expected to cover more than 20000 students. In addition, we will select 30 students from each school to do in-depth exploration of Yunqiao wetland, guide them to make their own creative works of Yunqiao wetland, show them to the public more vividly, and stimulate practical wetland protection actions.
