Zuohai temple is about 3 kilometers away from Bajiao city. It is a holy place for the great circle of man. It is also the only primitive Tibetan religious temple (Bon) in Gannan Prefecture. It has a history of more than 1000 years. The significant difference between the temple and the Buddhist temple is that the direction of turning the Sutra is counter clockwise, and the external wall is decorated with the symbol of "Swastika". Historical evolution
Zuohai temple is a yongzhongben temple, and also the only temple inheriting bon in Xiahe County. Among the seven monasteries approved by relevant religious departments in Gannan Prefecture, the one with the largest scale and influence. According to Wugou Guangrong Scripture, "yongzhongben religion" is a teaching method founded by the Mahayana Prince Dun Bashin Rao Miwo Tathagata, which forms the Mahayana belief. Its history is about 18000 years ago.
In history, there are 24 people who have achieved rainbow incarnation by practicing Yong Zhong's religion, and countless others who have achieved rainbow incarnation intermittently. The meaning of Yong Zhong is: Yong means that there is no life beyond righteousness; Zhong means that there is no death in the secular world; it means that all dharmas have their true and common meanings.

The above-mentioned classics are related to such fields as Jiucheng, Simen Wuku, Xianmi Sanbu, Yinming, logic, philosophy, psychology, temperament, drama, history, astronomy, geography, environmental protection, art, literature, medicine, yoga, folk custom, engineering, etc. it is an encyclopedia of Tibetan Xiangxiong Buddhism and cultural knowledge in the Holy Land and snow plateau. In December 2012, the Research Center for social development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences set up the key research topic "deep source of ancient Xiangxiong civilization" and the Chinese translation project of ancient Xiangxiong Buddhist Scripture ganzhur was officially launched.

Zuohai temple was once the main temple of yongzhongben temple and quanmizong settlement in the northeast of andoh. Today, like other temples in Gansu and Qinghai dynasties, they have the same inheritance of Dharma and play an important role in cultural exchange. In the long history, yongzhongben Buddhism has experienced ups and downs for several times. The temple has gone through ups and downs, from the site of the temple can be seen once brilliant. In the heyday of Zuohai temple, there were more than 700 monks of Xianmi and Xianmi.
During the period of democratic reform, there were 56 permanent monks in Zuohai temple. Now there are more than 40 dormitories and 43 monks.
Ancient and modern status

It is also a shining pearl representing the main carrier of the local culture of the Tibetan Plateau in today's diversified construction of Labrang culture. It has become one of the most important temples in the study of Yongzhong's doctrine, history and culture at home and abroad.
Opening to the outside world
During the cultural revolution, Zuohai Temple became the residence of Henan immigrants. At last, it was completely destroyed and became a ruin. After the implementation of the religious policy at the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, the temple was finally reopened in 1981.
Reconstruction and expansion
Master saichi, the sixth gongtangcang of Labrang temple, visited the temple twice. He gave valuable advice on the restoration of the temple and gave great help to the reconstruction of the temple. In 1986, on the basis of the government's contribution of 8000 yuan as the preparatory fund for the reconstruction of the temple, the living Buddha zexiucang, with the support of many believers and disciples, carried out the restoration and reconstruction on the former site of the temple.
The reason why the name of Zuohai temple is called "Zexiu" is that among the original groups of "dunxiu", "Dexiu", "xiaxiu", "Zhuxiu", "Xiexiu", "gamuxiu", "nangxiu" and "waxiu", Zexiu is better than other Dharma schools, so it is called "Zexiu". The original name of Zuohai temple is "Zexiu Yongzhong wendanpujilin" (meaning hongfazhou of Zexiu Yongzhong Benjiao), which is abbreviated as "Zexiu Palace" in Tibetan (meaning "Palace" in Tibetan is a pure place or temple). Now it is called "Zuohai Temple" in Chinese, and some ancient seals are carved as "Zuohai Temple".
"Ze" in Tibetan refers to having noble blood lineage, superior to other blood lineages, and having the meaning of extraordinary merit. It is a family name in the lineage inheritance of living Buddha, and the honorary name of muchaga is "Ze". "Show" means that all the psychedelic scenes melt into the meaning of primitive wisdom. At the same time, it also has the secret meaning of the supreme perfection, the king of natural wisdom, the primitive wisdom of natural meaning, or the indifference of mind and nature from being invaded by all kinds of things. The person who realizes the only point of Dharma body and the constant confusion of internal and external choice and naturally melts into his own environment is honored as "Xiuqin" or "chixiu". "Zexiu" is the honorific title of the living Buddha of the temple, which was later used as the name of the temple by believers.
Preside over lineage
In the early period of Zuohai temple, the living Buddha lineage was inherited to preside over the temple, and master Zexiu Dongni sharp was the founder of the Dharma lineage of Zexiu family. The inheritance of Dharma vein of master Zexiu Dongni sharp is as follows: his son Zexiu Dongni Yixi, the son of Dongni Yixi, garaoduodanzao, the son of garaoduodanzao, garaoduodansangai, the son of garaoduodansangai, zexiugongqinmilong, etc. Master zexiuzhongrenba is a living Buddha of the 18th generation, which is known as "zexiula raoxiaojie" in history, which means the flourishing period of the 18th generation. Since the 11th raojiang (Jiazi) of the Tibetan calendar, the reincarnation living Buddha identification system has been established in the period of master Zexiu xirao. Up to now, there are three main inheritance methods of reincarnation system of living Buddha, including Zexiu chibacang reincarnated by zhongrenba, Zexiu Xia Zhongcang reincarnated by gareyong Zhongjian, Zexiu qujiecang reincarnated by King jiawaici.
The temple annals records in detail the outstanding practitioners of Zexiu, such as Zexiu Zhongren Baxi Rao Nanjian, kumei gengsangjiacuo, Prince Kong Master Qu Jiejia wacicheng, zexiuyong zhongdanjie, wenjiayong Zhongpeng cuokaizhu kumei, dunqun xiazhong suonanyong zhongwangjie, who have made great contributions to the construction and practice of the temple. Zaxiu Zhongren Baxi Rao Nanjian was awarded the Golden Book and seal by the sixth Panchen master ban Dan Yixi, and was awarded the title of leader of Yong Zhongben religion in the northeast of andoh.
Master Zexiu qujie was honored as the master of Heshuote sonandajie (Prince of Mongolia) in Henan county of Huangnan Prefecture, and was given the title of "Zexiu qujie" (King Kong). Master Zexiu zhongrenba explained the authenticity of the three gendaoguo in the biography of Da Yuanman Xiangxiong, supplemented and revised the omissions in the three versions of WaMu, RANBA and benba, and made outstanding contributions to the normalization of the translation.
