Ningbo University

Ningbo University is a key Comprehensive University jointly built by the Ministry of education, the State Oceanic Administration, Zhejiang Province and Ningbo City. On October 29, 1985, the foundation laying ceremony of Ningbo University, covering an area of 1283 mu, was held ceremoniously. Founded with the donation of Mr. Bao Yugang, the world ship king, Comrade Deng Xiaoping wrote the name of the school in person.

Historical evolution

In December 1984, Bao Yugang decided to donate foreign exchange equivalent to 50 million yuan to establish Ningbo University.

In January 1985, Zhejiang provincial government approved the report of Ningbo Municipal Government on the preparation of Ningbo University. The official reply pointed out: "we agree to build Ningbo University, which is located in Ningbo City."

In September 1985, Comrade Deng Xiaoping wrote the name of Ningbo University.

In October 1985, Ningbo municipal government held the foundation laying ceremony of Ningbo University, attended by Wan Li acting Premier and Bao Yugang.

In April 1986, the former State Education Commission decided that Zhejiang University, Fudan University, University of science and technology of China, Peking University and Hangzhou university should support the construction and teaching of Ningbo University.

In 1990, the University began to cooperate with the famous aided universities to train postgraduates.

In July 1990, Ningbo University was approved as a bachelor's degree awarding unit. The first undergraduate graduated and was awarded a bachelor's degree.

In May 1992, General Secretary Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for Bao Yugang library, the campus of Ningbo University: "love your country and benefit Sangzi".

In 1992, Ningbo University was listed as the first batch of colleges and universities in China.

In 1995, the University passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation organized by the former State Education Commission.

In March 1996, the Zhejiang provincial government decided to establish a new Ningbo University by jointly running the former Ningbo University, Ningbo Normal University and Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Fisheries University. The three schools will be merged and jointly built by Zhejiang Provincial People's government and Ningbo Municipal People's government.

In June 1998, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council approved Ningbo University as a new master's degree awarding unit, and three degree programs in international trade, engineering mechanics and aquaculture were approved as professional master's degree awarding programs.

In June 1998, the school of medicine of Ningbo University was founded by Dr. Tang Yuhan, a Hong Kong scientist and medical scientist, a member of the Royal College of internal medicine in London and a member of the Royal College of internal medicine in Edinburgh.

In April 1999, the first state-owned private secondary college in the province, science and Technology College of Ningbo University, was established.

In 2000, it was listed as the key construction University of Zhejiang Province by the people's Government of Zhejiang Province.

In April 2000, 18 secondary colleges were established, and 6 academicians were successively appointed as the dean of the college; in May, the former Ningbo ocean School of the State Oceanic Administration and Ningbo Forestry School of the Ministry of forestry were merged into Ningbo University; in June, the former Ningbo normal school and Ningbo Shaw Art Kindergarten normal school were merged into Ningbo University; in July, Ningbo normal school and Ningbo Shaw art kindergarten normal school were merged into Ningbo University Primary branch of normal college, University of Poland.

In March 2001, Ningbo health school was merged into Ningbo University and established the health vocational and Technical College of Ningbo University.

In March 2003, the provincial government agreed to establish an independent Ningbo City Vocational and Technical College Based on the vocational and Technical Education College of Ningbo University, which is under the leadership and management of Ningbo City.

In December 2003, Ningbo University passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education.

In July 2004, the provincial government approved that the former health vocational and Technical College of Ningbo University should be transformed into an independent Ningbo Tianyi vocational and technical college, which is under the leadership and management of Ningbo City.

In November 2004, the College of science and technology of Ningbo University was recognized as an independent college by the Ministry of education.

In January 2005, the primary branch of Normal College of Ningbo University was renamed as the school of basic education, which was substantially merged into Ningbo University and moved to the north campus as a whole.

In April 2006, he was selected into the National College Students' cultural quality education base.

In June 2007, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Ningbo University was added as a doctoral degree authorized unit, and engineering mechanics, communication and information system, aquaculture and other three disciplines of Ningbo University were listed as doctoral degree authorized disciplines.

In 2011, the State Oceanic Administration and Ningbo City signed an agreement to jointly build Ningbo University.

In October 2012, the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, Zhejiang Provincial People's government and Ningbo Municipal People's government signed an agreement to jointly build Ningbo University.

In December 2012, Ningbo University was elected as the seventh executive director unit of the faculty management research branch of the Chinese society of higher education. Together with 30 universities including Peking University and Tsinghua University, Ningbo University was elected as the executive director unit.

In January 2013, he was selected into the National College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program.

In May, it was rated as a national university with typical employment experience by the Ministry of education.

In September 2014, it was selected into the first batch of pilot projects for the reform of education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents.

In April 2015, Ningbo University was listed in the first batch of key universities in Zhejiang Province.

On March 7, 2016, Ningbo (China) Supply Chain Innovation Institute, jointly built by Ningbo University and Massachusetts Institute of technology, was officially established in Ningbo University.

In September 2017, Ningbo University was selected as the National Double first-class "world-class discipline construction university".

In 2018, Meishan campus of Ningbo University was officially put into use, and all the teachers and students of ocean college, Maritime College and food and Pharmacy College entered Meishan campus. In March of the same year, it was selected into the first batch of national "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of education.

In April 2019, with the approval of the superior department, Li Huili Hospital of Ningbo medical center became the Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University. It was renamed "Li Huili Hospital Affiliated to Ningbo University". Li Huili Hospital Affiliated to Ningbo University is the Second Affiliated Hospital directly under Ningbo University.

In August 2019, it was rated as the national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience university by the Ministry of education.

On March 3, 2020, the Ministry of Education approved the doctoral education project of clinical medicine and Life Sciences jointly organized by Ningbo University and francesconte University in Burgundy, France.

In the same year, the University and Ningbo Institute of materials technology and engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly trained 200 professional master's degree candidates, with the major of mechanical, electronic information, materials and chemical engineering.

On June 11, 2020, with the approval of the superior department, Ningbo Yinzhou people's hospital became the affiliated hospital directly under Ningbo University, the first name of which was renamed as "Affiliated People's Hospital of Ningbo University"; the second names of which were "General Hospital of medical community of Ningbo Yinzhou people's Hospital" and "Ningbo Yinzhou people's Hospital". The Affiliated People's Hospital of Ningbo University is the Third Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University.

As of December 2019, the university has 25 teaching colleges, including 21 disciplinary colleges, 75 undergraduate majors and 62 undergraduate majors under recruitment.

The school has five campuses, including headquarters campus, west campus, north campus, botanical garden campus and Meishan campus, covering an area of more than 3000 mu. Among them, ocean college, ocean college and food and pharmacy college are located in Meishan campus of Ningbo University.
