Zhang Ruiting house

The former residence of Zhang Ruiting is a mixed structure with two floors and partial three floors with basement. It is a Nordic characteristic building. The building is equipped with veranda on three sides, the entrance is from high steps to large platform, and doors are set on both sides to enter the semicircular flower hall. There are four octahedral columns with eight petal leaves in the hall, and the four columns are lined with fountain.

The glass windows of the flower hall are inlaid with various colors of glass to form landscape pictures. The floor is paved with black and white marble. There are salons, restaurants and reception rooms on both sides of the hall. There is also a hall in the center of the second floor, surrounded by bedrooms and bathrooms. There are bedrooms and large platforms on the third floor. The decoration of the eaves is exquisite.

Zhang Ruiting's former residence is now used by the Tianjin Federation of industry and commerce, and is not an open object for visitors.

Life of the characters

(1878-1944), a giant businessman in Tianjin. In 1930, he took over Beiyang yarn factory and built Ruiting auditorium for Nankai Middle School. Zhang Ruiting is enthusiastic about education. He once supported the education fund of Nankai school with 100000 yuan. When Nankai school was built, the auditorium was named "Ruiting auditorium". Zhang died in 1944.
