Spring cottage

Built in 1933, chuncaotang is the residence of Xu Chuncao, the first president of Xiamen Construction Trade Union. It was designed by Xu Chuncao himself and built near the cliff. It looks like a western style building. In fact, it is a modern Chinese residence. In memory of his father, his children named the building after him.

The difference between chuncaotang and other villas on Gulangyu Island lies in the fact that granite, which is unique to southern Fujian, is selected as the wall base, wall column and gallery column. In particular, the bare surface of granite is intentionally preserved, and it is pointed with clear water and red brick. At a glance, it not only has the feeling of natural ruggedness, but also has the natural color beauty of Southern Fujian architecture. The site selection of this building is unique, with a wide range of perspectives. You can see the sea view through the window.
