Xianhu reservoir is a water storage project on Xianhu River, a tributary of Wuming River, located in the north of Zhongqiao village, Xianhu township. Near Liudong village.

Construction history
In April 1958, the Department of water and electricity of the autonomous region sent personnel to survey and design, and was responsible for the construction technical guidance. In the middle of August of the same year, migrant workers from Luowei, Ningwu, Lingma, Fucheng and Chengxiang were dispatched by the county to the construction site to break the ground. The dam head was completed and put into operation in June 1960. The reservoir area covers an area of 342 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 127.38 million cubic meters, an effective storage capacity of 57.54 million cubic meters, a flood control storage capacity of 57.56 million cubic meters, and a storage capacity below the gate bottom of 7.5 million cubic meters. For irrigation of Xianhu, Luowei, Ningwu, Chengxiang and other townships and Wuming overseas Chinese farm, the planned irrigation area was 189000 mu, which was approved to be 142000 mu in 1981. The key structures of the reservoir include dam, water conveyance tunnel, spillway, abnormal spillway and power station under the dam. The dam is a homogeneous earth dam with a height of 47 meters, a crest length of 296 meters and a width of 6 meters. At the beginning of the construction, the lower half of the inner slope of the dam head was grouted with block stone and poured with 10 cm thick concrete, the upper half of the dry block stone was grouted with cement, and the outer slope was paved with grass. After the impoundment operation, the settlement was found, and the inner slope was fully thickened and filled after hydrological review. The drainage system and piezometer pipe are added on the outer slope. It runs well. The water conveyance tunnel is located on the right bank of the dam, with a total length of 128 meters, a height of 2.5 meters and a bottom width of 2 meters. The top of the tunnel is a circular arch. Most of the tunnel walls are protected with plain concrete, and a few are reinforced with reinforced concrete. In the past, the reinforced concrete box culvert sealing gate was set at the exit of the tunnel, and eight small ball gates with a diameter of 0.62 m were set at the bottom of the box culvert as water discharge switches, with the water delivery flow of 10 cubic meters per second. Later, it was changed into a shaft type reinforced concrete flat gate for the water discharge tower, with a tower height of 26.5 meters, a gate section width of 2 meters and a gate height of 2.5 meters. The working gate of the water discharge tower was installed with an electric and manual screw hoist with a starting capacity of 30 tons, and a winch hoist with a starting capacity of 30 tons was installed for maintenance. The spillway is located 2.5km to the north of the dam head. It is an open wide crest weir with a net width of 70m at the weir crest inlet and 60m at the anti arc Bi Kan energy dissipation. The maximum design discharge is 2700 cubic meters per second. The extraordinary spillway is located in a mountain depression 100 meters to the left of the upstream of the dam head. The designed inlet floor elevation is 163.57 meters, the length of the dike top is 80 meters, and the gradient is 1:500. In May 1977, when the excavation reached the elevation of 165m, due to the coming of flood season, it was not safe to continue the construction, so it was forced to stop work and backfill the weathered soil, which did not meet the requirements of self dam break. From the start of construction to 1990, from the construction of the reservoir to many years of continuous construction and supporting facilities, a total of 8.189 million cubic meters of earthwork, 666000 cubic meters of stonework and 32000 cubic meters of concrete have been completed. 18522 tons of cement, 259.6 tons of steel and 1624 cubic meters of wood were used, 16.591 million working days were invested, and 7.932 million yuan was invested by the state.
