Yang Sisheng's former residence

Yang Sisheng's former residence is located in the north of the campus of Pudong middle school, Liuli Township, Pudong. It was built in 1903 with the style of Jiangnan Sanheyuan in the late Qing Dynasty. It has a history of nearly 90 years. It is a cultural relic protection unit in Pudong New Area. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Pudong middle school, it was renovated, but it still maintained the original pattern and furnishings.

Yang Sisheng's former residence

Yang Sisheng's former residence is a Liuli villa built by Yang Sisheng in 1903 for "listening to the sound of books". It was designed by Yang Sisheng himself and built by Yang Ruitai construction factory. It is a typical residential building in modern times (late Qing Dynasty) with the style of Jiangnan Water Town Sanheyuan in the late Qing Dynasty.

Pudong middle school was founded by Yang Sisheng in the spring of 1907. Huang Yanpei was the first principal of Pudong middle school. It is the earliest complete middle school in Shanghai. Nurtured by the motto of "diligence and simplicity", many famous alumni have emerged, such as Zhang Wentian, Jiang Jingguo, Jiang Weiguo, Wang Ganchang, Chen Fangyun, Fan Wenlan, Luo Ergang, Qian Changzhao, pan Xulun, Dong Chuncai, ye Junjian, Ma Shitu, Yin Fu, Hu yepin and Xie Jin. In the campus, there is a bronze statue of Yang Sisheng, his former residence and the May 30th Memorial. There are yanpeiting, zengtaochi, monument to revolutionary martyrs, relief of school history, etc. The school can receive group visits of students free of charge, and provide activity venues for the adult ceremony and group (team) joining ceremony of each school (one week's advance reservation is required).
