Wulong Palace
Wudang Mountain Five Dragon Palace, full name of "Great Five Dragon Lingying Longevity Palace" and "Xingsheng Five Dragon Palace", has built 850 temples, once large in scale, and is listed as one of the earliest nine palaces in Wudang Mountain. Wulong palace was built in Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty. Yao Jian, the governor of Junzhou, went up the mountain to pray for rain. After that, Wulong temple was built on the site. Wulong palace became the first palace built by the emperor in Wudang Mountain.
During the Southern Song Dynasty, wars were frequent, and the Taoist buildings of the five dragon palace were "three times destroyed in a hundred years". In the wars of the past dynasties, most of the five dragon palace were burned. Wulong palace is the bottom building of baiyun temple, which is composed of main hall, two corridors and Guanyin building. The Five Dragon Palace has four heavenly gates in turn, and the Zhenwu hall is the main building of baiyun temple, with five rooms wide and tall buildings. In front of Zhenwu hall, there are bells and drums, which are clear and clear.
brief introduction
Wulong palace is located at the foot of Wulong peak to the west of Tianzhu peak of Wudang Mountain, under Lingying peak, in front of Jinsuo peak, right around Mozhen stream, with quiet terrain. It is one of the earliest nine palaces built in Wudang Mountain. After renovation in Tang, song, yuan and Ming Dynasties, it has built 850 palaces and temples. At one time, the scale was huge, but now there are only palaces, red walls, stele pavilions, spring pools and ancient wells. On the white jade Xumi seat in the middle of Yuanjun Hall of Wulong palace, there is a bronze statue of xuannaiwu God, which is 1.95 meters high. It is the largest bronze statue of Zhenwu God in Wudang Mountain. On the right side of the hillside, there is still the monument of Longevity Palace built in Yuan Dynasty. Wulong palace is surrounded by pines, Wulong, Qingyang peaks, Feiyun stream, Bailong cave, water and other wonders.
Tour route
There are two tourist routes:
1. From Haokou village, Liuliping Town, Danjiangkou City on the side of national highway 316, you can walk for 12 kilometers, then you can reach it through Xinggong, renweiguan and yinxianyan;
2. From Nanyan to the west along the ancient Shinto, through the upper, middle and lower courtyards, through the emperor's son-in-law bridge, walking 12 kilometers, you can also get there.
Historical records
According to the old records and related inscriptions, during the reign of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (627-649), Yao Jian, the prefect of Junzhou, went up the mountain to pray for rain, and then built a "Five Dragon Temple" on the site. In the time of emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty (998-1022), he was granted "the view of five dragons responding to the spirit", which was later abandoned in "the disaster of Jingkang". Sun Yuanzheng, a Taoist in Benshan, rebuilt it and abandoned it at the end of Jin Dynasty. In the 23rd year of the Yuan Dynasty (1286), the imperial edict changed its view to "Five Dragons Lingying Palace".
The emperor Renzong of Yuan Dynasty granted the "great five dragons to the Longevity Palace". At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, it was destroyed by war. It was rebuilt in 1372. In 1412, the emperor hall, Mountain Gate, veranda, jade statue hall, parents hall, Qisheng hall, ancestral hall, shenku, Shenchu, left and right imperial edict tablet Pavilion, langmei tablet Pavilion, abbot, Zhaitang, Botang, Yuantang, Hakka hall, daozhongliao room, warehouse and other 215 rooms were built and awarded "Xingsheng Wulong Palace".
By the time of Jiajing, there were 850. In 1930, it was destroyed by fire. The existing gate, dragon and tiger hall, red wall, stele Pavilion, beidaoyuan, Zhaitang, Daofang, spring, pool, well, temple base, etc. Since Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, this palace has been led by Wulongxing palace, renweiguan temple, laomu temple and natural nunnery.
structure
In front of the palace are two symmetrical stele pavilions with the same structure, French style and shape as those in yuxu palace. Inside the pavilion, there are carved steles with huge stones. The entrance to the palace is the dragon and tiger hall, which was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It is of brick and wood structure, with hard hilltop, beam lifting wooden frame, and small green tile roof. The width of three rooms is 17 meters, the depth of two rooms is 9.1 meters, and the height is 10.05 meters. There are still statues of green dragon and white tiger on both sides of the hall, each more than Zhang high. Out of the palace gate, there are two walls, zigzag 18 fold, commonly known as the "zigzag Yellow River wall", most of the destruction. There are nine existing halls and platforms. The first five have stone steps of 81, and the last four have stone steps of 72. On the white jade Xumi seat in the middle of Yuanjun hall, there is a bronze gilt statue of Zhenwu, which is 1.95 meters high. It is the largest existing bronze statue of Zhenwu in Wudang Mountain. In front of the hall are the Tianchi Lake and the Dichi lake. On the left side of the hall is the hall of jade statues. The two statues have been lost. On the right side of the hall, there are six Yuan Dynasty steles. There are also some Ming and Qing steles in the palace, recording the rise and fall of the palace. Climbing from the left side of the palace gate is Shenmei terrace, on which there are steles. The stele Pavilion is on the right side and on the south side, turning to the stone mountain, which is the Qisheng terrace. From Tainan down, is the famous Taoist Chen Tuan chanting platform in the early Song Dynasty. Straight up is lingxu rock. Then from the old road to the west, for the nature nunnery. There are 42 existing temples in Wulong palace, with a construction area of 2975 square meters and a floor area of 250000 square meters, and 251 meters of residual palace walls.
It's the tallest wooden structure
Full name
Its full name is Xingsheng Wulong palace. In the north of Tianzhu peak of Wudang Mountain, 15 kilometers away from yuxu palace in the East. It is one of the earliest, unique and fascinating nine palaces in Wudang Mountain.
It is said that during the reign of Zhenguan of Tang Dynasty (627-649), Yao Jian, the prefect of Junzhou, prayed for rain in Wudang Mountain. When he saw five dragons flying down from the sky, he built the wulongke here. The Song Dynasty changed its name to wulongling. In the 23rd year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty (1286), it was changed into Wulong Youying palace. In the reign of emperor Renzong of the Yuan Dynasty, it was given the grand Wulong Lingying Longevity Palace, which was destroyed in the end of the Yuan Dynasty. In the 11th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1413), 850 halls and temples were rebuilt at the old site, and the "Xingsheng Five Dragon Palace" was granted. After the revolution of 1911, most of them were destroyed. Now there are only palace gate, red wall, stele Pavilion, spring pool and ancient well.

The Five Dragon Palace faces east from the West. There are nine and eighteen red walls outside the palace gate. There are stele pavilions in the north and south, with sun pool and moon pool in front. Entering the palace is the dragon and tiger hall. There are still clay painted statues, such as green dragon and white tiger, more than Zhang high, with nine stone steps and nine platforms. On the white jade Xumi seat in the middle of Yuanjun hall, there is a bronze statue of xuannaiwu God, which is 1.95 meters high. It is the largest bronze statue of Zhenwu God in Wudang Mountain. There are Tianchi and Dichi in front of Yuanjun hall, and the spring comes from shilongkou. On the left is the hall of jade statues, and on the right side of the hillside is the monument to the Longevity Palace of the Great Five Dragons erected in the Yuan Dynasty. From the left side of the palace gate, you can see Shenmei terrace. There is a tombstone on the platform. The pavilion turns to the South on the right side and reaches the Qisheng platform. Down from Tainan is the chanting platform of Chen Tuan, a famous Taoist in the early Song Dynasty, and up to lingxuyan. Wulong palace is surrounded by pines, Wulong, Qingyang peaks, Feiyun stream, Bailong cave, water and other wonders.
