Qiyuan, one of the top ten famous gardens in China, is located in qiyuannong, Wuyuan Town, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, covering an area of 14.8 mu. The garden was originally abandoned in Ming Dynasty. Later, the Feng family built it here, which is called the Feng family garden. It is a typical private garden style in Jiangnan. Feng zuanzhai, the owner of Qi garden, was the second son-in-law of Huang Xieqing, a poet and dramatist in the Qing Dynasty. The Huang family owned Zhuoyi garden and inkstone garden first and then. Huang Xieqing took the two gardens as the dowry of Huang Xiu, his second daughter. During the Xianfeng Period of the Qing Dynasty (1851-1861), the two gardens were destroyed by fire. In the sixth year of Tongzhi period, Feng zuanzhai collected the essence of the two gardens and added some Taihu Lake stones to build the garden. In the tenth year of Tongzhi period, the garden began to take shape. After that, pavilions and pavilions were built and scenic spots were added, which was named Qiyuan, meaning "beautiful dowry". After liberation, Feng zuanzhai's descendants dedicated the garden to the country. From October 1960 to October 1961, it was opened as Jiaxing special office worker sanatorium. It was rebuilt in 1967 and renamed Haiyan people's Park. In 1980, it was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit at the county level. In June 1985, it was renamed Qiyuan. In 1990, it was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit at the provincial level.
