The tomb of Er Cheng is about 25 kilometers south of Luoyang City, at the foot of Jingshan mountain in the west of Yichuan County, which is called Cheng Yuan. Cheng Hao (1032-1085 A.D.), also known as Mr. Mingdao (Bochun), Cheng Yi (1033-1107 A.D.), also known as Mr. Yichuan (Zhengshu), is a famous Neo Confucianist and educator in the Northern Song Dynasty.
Cheng Hao, a thinker and founder of Neo Confucianism in Northern Song Dynasty. The word is Bochun. Scholars call him Mr. Mingdao. He is from Luoyang, Henan Province. In the reign of Jiayou, when he was promoted to Jinshi, he was appointed as the chief bookkeeper and Jincheng magistrate of Xian and Shangyuan counties. With the achievements of governance, the crown prince agreed to supervise the Royal censor. He once participated in Wang Anshi's political reform. Later, he was demoted to Luoyang for opposing the new law. He contacted Wen Yanbo, Lu Gong and Sima Guang who were demoted to Luoyang and continued to oppose the new law. When the emperor zhezong ascended the throne, Sima Guang came to power and recommended Cheng Hao as the Prime Minister of Zongzheng temple. Jiading thirteen years (1220), granted posthumous chungong.
Cheng Yi, a thinker in the Northern Song Dynasty, is one of the founders of Neo Confucianism. The word is uncle Zheng. He is from Luoyang, Henan Province. Scholars call him Mr. Yichuan. According to the records of Songxian County, "after Mencius, for thousands of 300 years, Master Cheng was born. He was close to Lianxi (Zhou Dunyi), the secret of Taiji, and gathered with Zhang (Zai) and Shao (Yong) in Yiluo. The school of Taoism gathered in the eastern capital. The two Cheng academies are also called Yiluo." Emperor LiZong of the Southern Song Dynasty praised the works of Ercheng, Zhou Dunyi, Zhang Zai and Zhu Xi as "the works of five ministers". In the Southern Song Dynasty, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, great Confucian sages were worshipped in Confucian temples. In 1103, the second year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty, Er Cheng moved to the foot of the harou mountain (now Cheng village, Tianhu town). He was named "the hometown of Er Cheng" in the reign of Ming Shun.
