Exhibition hall display
Maritime History Museum
Navigation history museum is the key exhibition hall of China Navigation Museum. Taking time as the main line, the museum is divided into three exhibition areas: ancient, modern and modern. In this way, the audience can have a better understanding of the invention and evolution of China's navigation technology.
Ship Hall
The ship hall is divided into two parts: ship structure and equipment and ship manufacturing. Through the decomposition, introduction and display of ship structure, equipment and construction, a clear and transparent ship drawing is presented to the audience. At the same time, it combines interaction, environmental simulation, audience participation, cultural relics and objects. When displaying the structure of the ship, a 1:6 high simulation section model of a large 10000 DWT cargo ship was made, with a length of about 25 meters and a height running through the two-story exhibition space.
Navigation and port Pavilion
The navigation and port Museum mainly displays the marine environment, all kinds of instruments and meters to ensure the navigation of ships from ancient times to the present, including geographical navigation, astronomical navigation, radio navigation, etc. At the same time, a large number of cultural relics and objects reflecting the port and waterway are displayed.
Maritime and maritime safety Museum
The maritime and maritime safety museum is composed of two independent exhibition areas: Maritime and maritime safety. The Maritime Museum displays maritime history and maritime supervision and law enforcement through physical objects and auxiliary graphics. The maritime safety museum displays the contents of maritime rescue, salvage and prevention of piracy through physical objects, models, multimedia and electronic maps.
Seaman's Hall
Seamen's Museum mainly displays physical objects and documents closely related to Seamen's work and life. The navigation simulator in the center of the exhibition hall takes the large container ship cab as the prototype of the simulator, which vividly shows the characteristics of modern ship driving work, so that the audience can experience the feeling of being a captain by actively operating the ship.
Military navigation Hall
The military navigation museum is divided into two major exhibition contents: the construction of the Chinese people's navy and the knowledge of warships. It focuses on the display of various warship models, Navy flags and naval uniforms, and restores the submarine command module with high simulation. Shipborne guns and other objects were displayed outdoors.

Collection treasures
Octant
Octant (English Name: octant) is an early British product, which was produced in 1772 and 1830 respectively.
Octant came out in 1731; in 1757, octant was used as a model to invent sextant, which was gradually replaced by sextant.
Astronomical Clock
Astronomical clock is a specially designed instrument that can express the space-time operation of celestial bodies in various forms. It combines the power machinery and many transmission machinery into a whole, and uses several groups of gear trains to slow down the movement of the wheel, so that it often maintains a constant speed and is consistent with the movement of celestial bodies. Astronomical clock can not only express astronomical phenomena, but also time, which is closely related to human navigation.
One of the astronomical clocks is Thomson brand, which was produced in St Albans in the early 20th century. The design of the astronomical clock is exquisite and well preserved, especially the unique 72 minute timing design.
ship model
There are about 420 ships in the museum. In addition to the special ship model area, it is also scattered in all pavilions of the museum, covering all kinds of typical or famous civil ships and warships at all times and in all over the world. All the prototype ships of the model show an important position in the history of Chinese navigation and shipbuilding, and a few of them are world-famous ships. All ship models are customized from famous ship model making experts or studios at home and abroad according to the requirements of China International Expo, which can be called unique art treasures.
The form of the ship model reduced according to a certain proportion can be seen from the micro scale such as 1 / 6000 to the large scale that can carry people. As an integral part of art and function, zhonghaibo ship model is an indispensable element of the museum.
Jinhu wooden rudder
Jinhu wooden rudder was discovered in 2005 in Niupi reef of Yangtze Estuary. In addition, the rudder has a perfect hole for hanging rudder (by operating the perforated rope to lift the rudder), which is the most complete hole for hanging rudder among the ancient rudders discovered so far.
The wood rudder is the most complete unbalanced wood rudder found so far, with unique rudder structure connection form and complete thick rudder blade.
