Hua Zuan
Huazu temple, also known as Huazu temple, is located at No. 12, Yong'an street, Bozhou City, Anhui Province. Built in the first year of Tang Tianyou (904), it is a temple built for the sacrifice of Hua Tuo, a pharmacist in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Because all the abbots of the temple were female monks, they became nunneries.
Huazu nunnery is a traditional "three chamber, two hall, main hall" structure, mainly with overhanging eaves. Huazu nunnery covers an area of 13000 square meters, including Mountain Gate, ear room, main hall, East and West Hall, Zen room, Yuanhua thatched cottage, cunzhenzhai, yishouxuan, Ketu hall, Ziyi Pavilion, wuqin stage, Yaopu, Xizhi pool, stele corridor, etc.
In 1981, the people's Government of Anhui Province announced it as a key cultural relics protection unit in Anhui Province.
In 2010, huazuan was rated as AAA scenic spot by the national quality rating committee of scenic spots.
Historical evolution
Huazu nunnery was built in 904, the first year of emperor Tianyou of Tang Dynasty.
In the 26th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1761), the folk raised funds to repair the Huazu nunnery.
It was renovated in 1797 and again in Tongzhi.
In 1962, the people's Government of Bo County allocated funds for the maintenance of Huazu nunnery and added Huatuo memorial hall, which was named by Guo Moruo.
In 1980, Bozhou county government allocated funds for the maintenance of Huazu nunnery.
In 2008, Bozhou municipal Party committee and government added Huatuo traditional Chinese medicine culture museum on the basis of the original Huazu temple.
On September 9, 2009, Huatuo traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Museum officially opened.

Huazu'an covers an area of 13000 square meters, including Mountain Gate, ear room, main hall, East West Hall, Zen room, Yuanhua thatched cottage, cunzhenzhai, yishouxuan, Ketu hall, Ziyi Pavilion, wuqin stage, Yaopu, Xizhi pool, stele corridor, etc.
Ancient medicine garden
The pool on one side of the corridor of the ancient medicine garden is the medicine washing pool, where Hua Tuo used to wash medicinal materials. Around the medicine pool, a bamboo fence is the medicine garden. Hua Tuo introduced wild herbs into the field and opened the first medicine garden in Huazu temple, which greatly increased the yield of herbs. Chrysanthemum, peony, Belamcanda, Datura stramonium, Atractylodes macrocephala and other Chinese herbal medicines are planted in the herb garden.
Apprentice Hall
The lecture hall was the place where Hua Tuo taught and lectured. Fan a, Wu Pu and Li dangzhi studied here. There is a stage in front of him, one meter high, which is written on the "Wuqinxi" altar. Hua Tuo often plays "Wuqinxi" here to exercise.
Museum of traditional Chinese Medicine
The Museum of traditional Chinese medicine is a two-story Water Pavilion building. The first floor introduces the development of traditional Chinese medicine in China since Shennong's, and shows many ancient famous doctors. The second floor is mostly a display cabinet of traditional Chinese medicine samples, as well as pharmaceutical methods and tools. In addition, there is a real person teaching stage of Wuqinxi, which is used to spread the fitness Qigong Wuqinxi.
Architectural pattern
Huazu nunnery is a traditional structure of "three chambers, two halls and main hall". It is mainly built with overhanging eaves. In front of the Mountain Gate of Huazu nunnery, there are two main halls, East and West, entering the temple. Through Ziyi Pavilion, you can directly enter Yuanhua thatched cottage. Yuanhua thatched cottage stands on the high platform, and the corridor connects the East and West. The East chamber is called Yishou Pavilion. "Cunzhenzhai" in the Western Chamber of Yuanhua thatched cottage is Hua Tuo's pharmacy and the place for medical treatment. There are portraits of famous Chinese doctors and their local biographies, as well as inscriptions and paintings by experts and scholars at home and abroad. The whole courtyard is connected with the cloister, bypassing the gallery and entering the ancient medicine garden. Pools, bridges, rockeries, pavilions and trees are arranged according to local conditions. Along the garden path of huazuan, there are some precious herbs and flowers, such as peony, peony, white chrysanthemum, Datura, rose palm, etc.
Cultural relics
Two lions
The two stone lions came from tieguandi temple in Shili Town, Qiaocheng district. They were built in the Ming Dynasty and were divided into male and female lions. In the early 1970s, the stone lions were transported to Huazu nunnery.
Xie Li Tong Wei
Above yishouxuan is a plaque of Xie Li Tong Wei written by Zhu GUI, governor of Anhui Province in 1797. There is a couplet inscribed by Zhu GUI on the gold pillar in the hall: "five operas turn to Lingshu Road, the emperor Xuanxian position industry, four rounds of destruction and transportation, the Buddha and Bodhi can be released.". "Yishouxuan" is dedicated to a bronze statue of Hua Tuo carved by master sculptor Qian Shaowu. On the corridor of the stele are poems written for Hua Tuo.
History and culture
Hua Tuo's character transformation is called Fu. Hua Tuo, a native of Bozhou, Anhui Province, studied Qihuang and learned several classics. All his life, he didn't admire Li Lu. He went through streets and alleys to seek prescriptions. He was good at hearing diseases and helping the living. More than 1600 years ago, Hua Tuo used alcohol to take "mabeisan" for laparotomy. Hua Tuo is known as the originator of surgery. He also created "Wuqinxi" for health care, which opened up a precedent of Chinese sports medical treatment. Hua Tuo helped the world and saved people with noble medical ethics, and later generations praised him as a miracle doctor.
