China Garden Museum is the first national museum with garden theme in China. It is located at the foot of Yingshan mountain in Fengtai District of Beijing, on the Bank of Yongding River. It has been under construction since 2010 and opened in May 2013. It covers an area of 65000 square meters and a building area of 49950 square meters. It is composed of the main building, indoor exhibition garden and outdoor exhibition area. 28200 square meters in the main building can be used for exhibition. As a public welfare permanent cultural institution, the Garden Museum is an International Garden Cultural Center for collecting garden historical relics, carrying forward Chinese traditional culture, displaying garden artistic charm and studying garden value. The planning concept of China Garden Museum is "tranquil and bright landscape of ideal home", and the water diversion along the mountain forms the landscape framework of "storing wind and gathering gas". The main hall is composed of two basic elements: the roof of the main axis is bright gold, reflecting the characteristics of Beijing Royal culture; the gray tile white wall reflects the architectural style of the southern garden. The front of the building uses white walls as paper and several stones as paintings, which outlines a three-dimensional landscape painting scroll.
The Chinese Garden Museum mainly focuses on the indoor exhibition, supplemented by the outdoor exhibition area and the indoor exhibition garden, which are interpenetrated and infiltrated into a whole exhibition. On the basis of traditional exhibition means, the modern exhibition means of interest, participation and interaction are added to highlight the garden exhibits with seasonal changes, spatial artistic characteristics and experiential style. In order to show the characteristics of southern Chinese garden schools, three indoor exhibition gardens, namely "Changyuan" in Suzhou, "pianshishanfang" in Yangzhou, and "yuyinshanfang" in Lingnan, were built in the interior with ingenuity.
