Wuzhen, located in the northwest corner of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, is an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River with a history of 1300 years. The cross shaped inland river system divides the town into "east gate, South Gate, west gate and North Gate".

Wuzhen, located in Tongxiang, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the "Golden Triangle" of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, and the hinterland of Hangjiahu Plain. Historical evolution
Wuzhen has a long history. According to the textual research of tanjiawan ancient cultural site in the suburb of Wuzhen, about 7000 years ago, the ancestors of Wuzhen had been living in this place. At that time, it belonged to the Majiabang culture of the Neolithic age.
In the spring and Autumn period, Wuzhen was the border between Wu and Yue, where the state of Wu stationed troops to guard against the state of Yue.
In the Qin Dynasty, Wuzhen belonged to Kuaiji County, with Chexi (today's Shihe) as the boundary, Wudun in the west, Wucheng County in the west, Qingdun in the East, Youquan county and Wuzhen divided and ruled. Later, Wuzhen was under the jurisdiction of Huzhou and Jiaxing in Zhejiang Province, or Suzhou in Jiangsu Province.
In Tang Dynasty, Wuzhen was subordinate to Suzhou government. Houliang, belonging to the same, is the land of Wuyue. In the fifth year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty (940), Xiuzhou was established, and Qingdun was subordinate to Xiuzhou in Jiaxing county.
Song Chunhua three years (992), Wuzhen is Wucheng Li Huzhou. Ten years (1077), Xi Ning analyzed 5 villages in the west of Jiaxing County, such as Wutong, Yongxin and Qingfeng, and went to Qingde County in Qingfeng Village. In the early years of Yuanfeng, there were records of Wudun town and Qingdun town. Later, they were renamed Wuzhen and Qingdun town as taboos of the shunguang sect. Jiading years, the rise of Jiaxing army, Qingzhen then Chongde Li Jiaxing army. In the second year of Baoqing (1226), Huzhou was changed to Anji and Wuzhen to Wucheng county. In the Song Dynasty, the town set up supervisors to control fire and alcohol taxes, and recruited soldiers to practice martial arts to resist bandits.
In 1277, Wuzhen was located in Wucheng County, Huzhou Road, and Qingzhen was located in Chongde County, Jiaxing Road. The town has its capital.
Ming Xuan de (five) (1430), analysis of the collection of Yongxing, Tongxiang, Jiaxing and Wutong six township, the town of Qingdao, belonging to the town of Wuzhen. This subordination remained unchanged until the Qing Dynasty. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Zhejiang branch office and Jiangsu Zhejiang branch office were set up in Wuzhen, which was equivalent to the function of government office.
In 1912, the two towns were still divided.
In May 1950, Wuzhen and Qingzhen were merged and named Wuzhen, belonging to Tongxiang county and Jiaxing.

It is located at 120 ° 54'e and 30 ° 64'n. It is located in the north of Tongxiang City, east of Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, west of Huzhou City, and north of Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The land transportation has county-level highway Yaozhen line running through the town. Wuzhen is located in the southeast coast, a typical subtropical monsoon climate. It is warm and humid, with abundant rain and sufficient sunshine. The annual average sunshine is 1842.3 hours. It is characterized by long spring and short autumn, cold winter and hot summer, warm spring and cool autumn, and four distinct seasons. There are 78 days in spring, 90 days in summer, 64 days in autumn and 133 days in winter. The annual average temperature is 16.1 ℃. January is the coldest with a monthly average temperature of 3.6 ℃; July is the hottest with a monthly average temperature of 28.1 ℃; the annual average precipitation is 1233.9mm.
