The appearance design concept highlights the characteristics of "grand, incomplete and cognitive", with "memory of ruins" as the main keynote. The concept of structural design imitates the system of yuanzhongdu, which is composed of three layers: Kuocheng, Huangcheng and Gongcheng, and is designed as "Hui". The shape design aims to find the specific image of the capital site between the grand and incomplete, and integrate the remnant cave and fragment into the building. The space design reflects the palace community, which is composed of different levels of enclosed courtyards, mobilizing all factors such as space, light and texture At the same time, with the exhibition content, visitors form a strong physical and mental experience process.

Development history

In 1307, Wuzong Haishan of the Yuan Dynasty established Zhongdu of the Yuan Dynasty in Zhangbei County. Together with Shangdu (Zhenglan Banner, Inner Mongolia) and Dadu (Beijing), it was called the three Dadu cities of the Yuan Dynasty. The existing Zhongdu site of the Yuan Dynasty is located 15 kilometers northwest of Zhangbei County. It is the most well preserved capital site of the Yuan Dynasty in China, with a single age and the least damage in the later period. In 2001, the site was listed as a national cultural relic protection unit. In order to fully display the historical and cultural value of Zhongdu of the Yuan Dynasty, Zhangbei County spent 80 million yuan to build the Museum of Zhongdu of the Yuan Dynasty, which integrates cultural relic protection, archaeological research and display, with domestic advanced technology and equipment. As a base for inheriting Zhongdu history and Mongolian Yuan culture, the museum adds a beautiful business card to show Zhangbei's historical and cultural heritage.
