Historical evolution

In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Jiangnan University, Wuxi Weifu group, Jiangsu Taihu boiler group and other five enterprises jointly founded Taihu College of Jiangnan University. The college is positioned as a full-time, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary undergraduate college. It is the first independent college in Jiangsu Province and the only private undergraduate college in Wuxi City.

In 2010, Taihu College of Jiangnan University began to recruit students from 17 provinces and cities in China.

In January 2011, the Ministry of Education issued the notice of the Ministry of education on Approving the transformation of Taihu College of Jiangnan University into Wuxi Taihu college.

Taihu College of Jiangnan University has been transformed into Wuxi Taihu college, the first private undergraduate college in Jiangsu Province and the first application-oriented undergraduate college in Wuxi City.

In April 2012, the college established the science and technology entrepreneurship Park of Wuxi Taihu University.

In June 2012, the National Research Center for Party Construction in private undergraduate colleges and universities was unveiled in the college.

On June 14, 2013, the "Wuxi base for International Education Exchange" and "Wuxi Education Base for Chinese Applied Innovative Talents" established by China Education Society of the Ministry of education and China Private Education Association of the Ministry of education were unveiled in the college, and the Wuxi Education Center for graduate students of China Southern Airlines and the Wuxi Education Center for graduate students of Southwest University of Finance and economics were settled in the college at the same time.

In September 2013, the college was approved as a provincial experimental teaching and practice education center.

In December 2013, Jiangsu Provincial Department of education and Wuxi Municipal People's government officially signed the agreement on increasing support for the innovative development of Wuxi Taihu University, and the university has become an Application-Oriented Undergraduate University jointly built by Jiangsu Province and Wuxi City.

In May 2015, the college was approved to add "auditing" and "painting" two undergraduate majors.

In June 2015, accounting of the college won the first batch of university brand majors in Jiangsu Province.

In 2017, the college was approved as the construction unit of master's degree granting right.
