Historical evolution
The origin of school
In 1905, the General Administration of agriculture, industry, commerce and mining of Jiangxi Province and the Department of academic affairs set up Jiangxi Industrial School in the agricultural experimental field. It enrolled more than 100 students. It started to run a general course, and immediately changed to a higher preparatory course, with Fu chunguan as the general office and long Zhongsong as the supervisor.
In 1907, Jiangxi Industrial school was renamed Jiangxi higher agricultural school, which was the beginning of Jiangxi agricultural education.
In 1912, Jiangxi higher agricultural school and higher forest school were merged and renamed Jiangxi higher agricultural school, and then Jiangxi higher agricultural and forestry school.
In 1914, Jiangxi higher agricultural and Forestry College was changed into Jiangxi public agricultural college.
In 1927, Sun Yat sen University was founded in Jiangxi Province. Jiangxi public agricultural college was incorporated into the University and became its Ministry of agriculture. Soon, the University was closed and changed into Jiangxi Provincial Agricultural College.
In 1932, Jiangxi Provincial Agricultural College was closed down because its establishment was not in line with the Ministry's order and funds were short.
On October 31, 1940, the opening ceremony of National Chung Cheng University was held in Xingling, Taihe. The University set up a school of grammar, an agricultural college and a technical college. The agricultural college set up the departments of Agronomy, forestry and animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. Zhou Shilu was the president of the agricultural college.
In 1943, preparations for the restoration of Jiangxi Provincial Agricultural College began.
In 1949, part of the agricultural specialty was incorporated into the Agricultural College of national Zhongzheng University, and the other parts were established as Jiangxi Nanchang agricultural college.
In the early days of the people's Republic of China
In September 1949, the former Zhongzheng University moved from Wangchenggang, Xinjian County, to pengjiaqiao, Nanchang City, and was renamed Nanchang University. Under the name of Nanchang University, there was an agricultural college, and its president was Yang Weiyi. Soon after, part of Jiangxi Agricultural College was incorporated into the agricultural college, with three departments of Agronomy, forestry, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine.
In 1952, China's colleges and departments were adjusted. The agronomy and veterinary specialties of the Agricultural College of Nanchang University and the veterinary specialties of the three agricultural colleges of Guangxi, Hunan and Henan, as well as the agronomy Department of Jiangxi Nanchang Agricultural College and Jiangxi provincial veterinary college were merged to establish Jiangxi Agricultural College. Professor Yang Weiyi, member of the academic department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was the president of Jiangxi Agricultural College Set up agronomy, veterinary two departments and agronomy, veterinary technology department (medium).
In 1954, on the basis of the two departments of agriculture and ranching, the practice farm was merged and expanded.
On September 1, 1958, two departments of horticulture and agricultural machinery were added.
In 1958, Jiangxi Communist Labor University was founded. Its head school is located in the suburb of Nanchang, mainly running junior colleges. Its branch schools are located in all parts of Jiangxi Province, mainly running secondary technical schools and junior technical schools.
In 1962, Jiangxi Agricultural University began to recruit graduate students.
Cultural Revolution disaster
In October 1968, Jiangxi Agricultural College was abolished, and then incorporated into the general school of Jiangxi Communist Labor University. The vast majority of teaching staff were transferred to rural areas of Yichun in batches. The practice farm of Jiangxi Agricultural College was taken over by Nanchang County, and then merged into Liantang reclamation farm.
In April 1978, with the approval of the State Council, Jiangxi Communist Labor University was listed as a national key university. In the same year, the general school of Jiangxi Communist Labor University resumed recruiting graduate students.
reform and opening-up
In May 1980, the Jiangxi provincial Party committee and the provincial people's government decided to decouple the general school of the Communist Party of China from the branch school. The general school is called "Jiangxi Communist Labor University", which is a comprehensive agricultural university in Jiangxi Province.
On November 20, 1980, with the approval of Jiangxi provincial Party committee and people's government, Jiangxi Communist Labor University was renamed Jiangxi Agricultural University.
In 1981, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the University was one of the first batch of units authorized to confer master's degree and bachelor's degree.
In 2003, the University was granted the right to confer doctoral degree.
In 2004, he was authorized to study for master's degree by teachers in Colleges and secondary vocational schools.
In 2006, he was selected into the National College Students' cultural quality education base.
In 2012, it was selected as the basic ability construction project of universities in central and Western China.
In January 2013, he was selected into the National College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program.
In December 2015, the State Forestry Administration and Jiangxi Provincial People's government signed an agreement to jointly build Jiangxi Agricultural University.
In June 2016, the people's Government of Jiangxi Province and the Ministry of agriculture signed an agreement to jointly build Jiangxi Agricultural University.
In December 2017, he was selected as the first-class discipline construction university in Jiangxi Province.
