By the end of the Tang Dynasty, Quanzhou was expanded, and the southern end of Zhongshan road extended to today's Tumen street.
In Song Dynasty, Zhongshan street was extended again, reaching Chaotianmen (now Huancheng Road) in the north and dejimen in the south, with a total length of about 2.5 km, basically forming a scale. During the period of the Republic of China, Quanzhou government named this street "Zhongshan Road".
