Located at No.75, Lingyuan Road, Macheng City, Hubei Province, Macheng martyrs cemetery was built in 1979 to commemorate the jute uprising and the heroic deeds of the revolutionary martyrs in Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Soviet areas.
Macheng martyrs cemetery covers an area of 114600 square meters. From 2005 to 2007, Macheng invested 26.78 million yuan to carry out a new transformation, with a greening rate of more than 80%. The cemetery is a national key martyr memorial building protection unit and a demonstration base of patriotism and national defense education in Hubei Province. It is one of the "100 national red tourist attractions" and the node of 30 national red tourist routes. It is a national AAAA tourist attraction.

. Macheng City is located in the northeast of Hubei Province, at the south foot of the middle section of Dabie Mountain at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces. It is more than 80 kilometers away from Wuhan, and the highway mileage is about 110 kilometers.
Architectural features
There are 9 main memorial buildings in Macheng martyrs' cemetery. The architectural form integrates Chinese traditional national style and distinct spirit of the times, which is magnificent and solemn.
The plane layout is axial symmetry. On the central main axis, from south to north, there are gate, Monument and memorial square. On the secondary axis of both sides of the memorial square are the memorial square for martyr Li shuoxun, the general Pavilion and the Red Maple Pavilion; the memorial hall for Wang Shusheng, the tomb of General Wang Shusheng, etc.; and the memorial statues for martyrs, which constitute a relatively complete memorial system.

Monument to the martyrs of the jute Uprising
In the cemetery of martyrs in Macheng stands a monument to the martyrs of the jute uprising and the revolution in Hubei Henan Anhui Soviet Area, on which are engraved with inscriptions and inscriptions of Party and state leaders such as Hua Guofeng, Ye Jianying, Xu Qianqian, Li Xiannian, etc.
Revolutionary Memorial Hall
Covering an area of 2200 square meters, Macheng revolutionary memorial hall was built in 1979. It is an antique building. The exhibition hall of the memorial hall is divided into six parts: the preface hall, the red land, the heroes and martyrs, the bright stars, the general's style and the rising Macheng. It vividly shows the revolutionary struggle history of the Macheng people and the arduous process of building a new Macheng by means of modern display means such as phantom imaging, light tracing dubbing, three channel arc screen and so on Among them, 76 martyrs, 44 Macheng generals (8 in the new era) and 86 models are included. In the preface hall, the group statues of the generals of the people's Republic of China coming out of Macheng with the peaks of the Dabie Mountains as the background are displayed. The part of red land and martyrs shows the deeds of Macheng famous martyrs and models who died bravely for the victory of Chinese revolution. The brilliant part of the stars shows the extraordinary achievements of Peng Huanwu, the "two bombs and one satellite" meritorious service, and the late provincial military chief of Macheng nationality. In the general style part, the founding generals from Macheng and the generals in the new era are displayed. In the rising Macheng part, the feature film "rising Macheng" broadcast through three channel arc screen shows the ecological Macheng, red Macheng, vitality Macheng and hope Macheng.
Red land Museum area
Macheng is a red land. Since the founding of the Communist Party of China, Dong Biwu and Chen Tanqiu, representatives of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China, have taken Wuhan middle school as a base to instill communist ideas and spread Marxism among students studying in Wuhan. During the first Civil Revolutionary War, Macheng was famous for its vigorous peasant movement. After the failure of the great revolution, the Macheng county Party committee, together with the Huang'an county Party committee, led the agricultural forces of the two counties to bravely carry out the "autumn harvest riot in September", and then successfully held the "jute uprising". Taking the jute uprising as the starting point, the Dabie Mountains started a prairie fire, and the red flag was planted all over Hubei, Henan and Anhui, creating the second largest revolutionary base in China after the Central Soviet Area, with a population of 3.5 million and an area of more than 40000 square kilometers.
Heroes and martyrs Museum area
There are a lot of martyr photos and profiles in the museum area.
In the long revolutionary war, more than 143000 people in Macheng paid for their lives. After the liberation of the whole country, the Civil Affairs Department of Macheng issued 12538 martyr certificates in accordance with relevant regulations after strict investigation, evidence collection and verification. On display here are the heroic deeds of 76 famous martyrs from Macheng, less than one thousandth of the martyrs and one thousandth of the victims. Here only reposes the old people's memory of the revolutionary martyrs and admiration for the national heroes.
Wang Shusheng Memorial Hall
Wang Shusheng memorial hall is an antique courtyard style memorial hall built in memory of Wang Shusheng, one of the leaders of the "jute uprising", deputy commander of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army and general of the founding of the people's Republic of China. It covers an area of 1600 square meters and was completed in 2007. The exhibition hall of the memorial hall is divided into seven parts: the preface hall, the youth period, the great revolution period, the Agrarian Revolutionary War period, the Anti Japanese War period, the liberation war period, and the national defense and army modernization construction period. With words, pictures, photos, oil paintings, sound and photoelectric, cultural relics and other display techniques, it shows that General Wang Shusheng grew up from a rural primary school teacher to a republic The revolutionary course of the general. In the preface hall, a bronze half length statue of General Wang Shusheng is displayed. On the background wall of the statue, marshal Xu Qianqian inscribed: "Wang Shusheng is a hero of Dabie Mountain.". There is also a special car (FAW 1968 red flag car) equipped by Wang Shusheng, a great general, on display in the memorial hall.
Li shuoxun Memorial square
There is a white standing statue of martyr Li shuoxun on the memorial square of martyr Li shuoxun. On the red stone base, Deng Xiaoping inscribed "martyr Li shuoxun is immortal".
Martyr Li shuoxun, also known as Li Tao, was born in Macheng, Hubei Province on February 23, 1903 in Gaoxian, Sichuan Province. It was one of the pioneers of the CPC's early participation in leading the military struggle. In June 1931, he served as the Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Military Commission of the Communist Party of China. Unfortunately, he was arrested for betraying and died bravely.
Tomb of General Wang Shusheng
Wang Shusheng's graveyard is covered with flowers and grass.
Wang Shusheng is a senior general and outstanding strategist of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. Born in 1905 in Macheng, Hubei Province. In 1926, he joined the Communist Party of China and participated in the establishment of the first peasant armed forces in Macheng county. In 1927, he participated in leading the Macheng uprising and jute uprising.
history
Macheng is a red land. It is the birthplace of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army, the 25th army of the Red Army and the 28th army of the Red Army. In November 1927, the "jute uprising" which shocked the whole country broke out here. More than 20 years later, the revolutionary fire of Macheng lasted for a long time, and the revolutionary red flag of Macheng never fell. More than 137000 people died in the war, and more than 60000 outstanding children participated in the Red Army. In the bloody battle, 44 General of the Republic such as Wang Shusheng, Xu Shiyou, Chen zaidao, Wang Hongkun and 126 high-ranking military officials of the founding province were forged. Macheng is the place with the largest number of revolutionary martyrs in China, and one of the 10 Red Army soldiers is from Macheng.
