Fossil wood group
The scenic spot is located in xiadelongwan village, Qianjiadian town. It is one of the key scenic spots in the eastern mountain circle of Yanqing County. The area is surrounded by mountains and rivers with beautiful scenery. Wood fossils are famous for their characteristics of "transforming decay into magic". It is widely distributed, with a width of more than 1000 meters from east to west and a length of more than 2000 meters from north to south. The fossils are concentrated in exposed or deep buried strata, crisscross, vivid, and the ring is clear, which has a high appreciation and archaeological value. It is a comprehensive scenic spot integrating sightseeing, folk holiday and popular science education.
brief introduction
The fossil wood group is located in the eastern mountainous area of Yanqing, mainly distributed on both sides of the Baihe River. It is 26 km long from east to west and 6-8 km wide from south to north. There are rich and valuable geological relics in the wood fossil Geopark, and there are more than 20 protected areas. Among them, the ancient wood fossil group, animal and plant fossil sites, marine sedimentary relics, structural features, landscape and so on are all left over after a long geological evolution. The earliest and latest geological relics are formed with a time span of 2 billion years, which is a very comprehensive and precious geological heritage Heritage. In particular, the wood stone group in Qianjiadian town is the largest and best preserved in-situ wood stone group in North China, which occurred in the Jurassic period 140-180 million years ago and is a treasure of geological relics. Some areas in the Geopark have been developed into tourist attractions, but most of them are still in the original state. In the next eight years, Yanqing County will carry out development and construction according to the overall planning of the Geopark. The Geopark is divided into Yanshan Tianchi leisure resort area, Baihe gorge geological science popularization area, central area and sightseeing area of wood stone group, datan natural eco-tourism area and didi scenic area The total investment is expected to reach 92 million yuan.
history
According to the research of scientists, the lignified stone was produced in the late Middle Jurassic, which has experienced 130 million years of vicissitudes. At that time, there was a vast forest sea with luxuriant vegetation, and there was a primeval forest dominated by wide hole exotic trees (now known as ancient conifers and cypresses). Later, due to the dramatic change of the crust, the ancient wood fossils were formed by the sudden deposition and silicification, and the crust changed again, floating the ancient wood fossils on the ground. According to experts' evaluation, the fossil group of ancient trees is a collection of typical and rare geological heritage resources, spring resources and forest resources. It is an ideal selection of National Geopark for the study of paleogeography, paleoclimate, ancient trees, crustal movement, tectonic change, sedimentary environment, and the relationship between modern ecological protection and socio-economic development and natural environment variation It is a rare fossil group of ancient trees that integrates research, teaching, science popularization, tourism and vacation.
Scenery
There are also rich tourism resources and cultural landscapes in the fossil wood group: water curtain cave style teapots, Wulong gorge with Bixi, strange stones and green mountains and valleys, Yanshan Tianchi with the reputation of "high gorge and flat Lake", and many geological relic landscapes such as lithology, lithofacies, structural features and dissolution landform, together with the ancient and vicissitudes of the great wall of Yan, elegant and simple gujia mountain village, fresh and beautiful scenery The unique Chaoyang temple and the lush datan nature reserve constitute a natural, beautiful and diverse geological resource park.
Fossil wood is also called fossil silicon. According to experts, in the Mesozoic Jurassic 150 million years ago, due to crustal movement and volcanic eruption, ancient forests were buried by sand, rocks and volcanic lava, and organic matter in trees was gradually replaced by silica, forming silicified wood like stone. In the fossil forest, the ancient trees are barren, either piercing the sky or lying in the rocks. The external form of these silicified trees still retains the characteristics of trees, and the annual ring pattern can be clearly seen on the section. Some trees look like wind fossils. They seem to peel off layer by layer. In fact, they are very hard. Some trees have become agate fossils, and their cross sections are smooth and crystal clear after artificial polishing, with clear stripes and great aesthetic feeling.
According to historical records, Shen Kuo was exiled to this place during the Northern Song Dynasty, and ancient wood fossils were found. Therefore, in MengXiBiTan, it was recorded that the pine turned into stone. Mr. Qian Weichang, vice chairman of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was very curious when he was 12 years old. He wanted to have a look at it. When he learned that the ancient wood fossil group scenic spot had been established, he made a special visit to see it. In order to fulfill his long cherished wish, he gladly inscribed the name of the ancient wood fossil group scenic spot. Chen Muhua, chairman of the China Women's Federation, also visited here. He once made a special report in CCTV's "into science" column.
characteristic
It is upright, large-scale, distributed in groups and well preserved.
Ancient trees have hard texture, clear texture and distinguishable ring width.
The Yanqing primary wood fossil group, a typical representative of North China, is rare in China and the only one in Beijing.
It grows in situ, buries in situ and occurs in primary horizon. It is of great scientific value to study the geological evolution and crustal movement in this area.
It is of great significance for stratigraphic division and correlation of Jurassic volcanic sedimentary basins. At the end of 2000, the fossil group of ancient trees was rated as a popular science education base; in November 2001, it was promoted to Beijing geological heritage protection area. At present, we are designing and implementing the project of village access road, parking lot, public toilet, geological museum, picking garden, fishing pool and adjacent qingfengjian scenic area, as well as the surrounding 500 mu greening, so as to lay the foundation for applying for the National Geopark and enrich the connotation of tourism knowledge.
type
White fossil wood group
Mineral purity is high, particle size is uniform, composition is single, cell residue color is light, cell wall residue is very little, cell morphology is mainly judged from quartz, chalcedony metasomatism, filling, accumulation of cell contour. The main tree species are Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Ginkgo biloba and other non resin producing plants, and the later leaching effect is weak. White lignified stone is rare.
Fossil group of gray ancient wood
The mineral has high purity, uniform grain size, single composition, deep color of cell residue and more cell wall residue. The cell morphology is mainly judged from the cell contour and obvious cell wall formed by quartz and chalcedony metasomatism, filling and accumulation. The main tree species are Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Ginkgo biloba and other non resin producing plants, and the later stage of the infection is strong.
Fossil group of yellow ancient wood
The results show that the mineral of yellow fossil wood has high purity, uniform grain size, single composition, deep color of cell residue and more cell wall residue. The cell morphology is mainly judged from the cell contour and obvious cell wall formed by metasomatism, filling and accumulation of quartz, chalcedony and opal. Most of the tree species are resin producing plants such as pine and cypress. Yellow is evenly distributed in the fossil wood, consistent inside and outside, and related to the original wood. Yellow fossil wood is common. Another kind of yellow wood fossil. Because of the yellow mineral phase of Fe2O3, the fossil wood appears yellow, which is heterogeneous and can be divided into shallow and deep.
Brown fossil wood group
The mineral has high purity, uniform particle size and single composition. In the later stage, the iron oxide is disseminated and penetrated into the cells, and the residual color is light to deep, and the cell wall residue is less. The cell morphology is mainly judged from the cell contour and obvious cell wall formed by quartz, chalcedony and opal metasomatism, filling and accumulation. All the tree species have their own characteristics. Because of the brown mineral phase of Fe2O3, the fossil wood appears brown. In the lignified stone, it is rare to be brown as a whole, and most of them are distributed in patches, plaques or clusters.
Red fossil wood group
The mineral is of high purity, uniform grain size and single composition. In the later stage, the iron oxide is disseminated and penetrated into the cells, and the residual color is light deep, and the cell wall residue is less. The cell morphology is judged from the cell contour and obvious cell wall formed by the metasomatism, filling and accumulation of quartz, chalcedony and opal. All the tree species have their own characteristics. Because of the red mineral phase of Fe2O3, the fossil wood appears red. It is rare that the wood fossils are red as a whole, and most of them are distributed in patches, plaques or clusters. When the wood fossils are filled with chalcedony, they often show an agate like appearance.
Fossil group of green ancient trees
The wood fossils were stained green by cuc03. Malachite is attached to the surface and cracks of fossil wood in film form, and it is often distributed in pieces in fossil wood. Malachite also appears as plaque and flower spot.
Agate like fossil wood group
A kind of "agate fossil" has been reported, which does not exist in nature and is quite different in origin. When the dense and delicate crystal of chalcedony wood fossils are impregnated by late iron oxide, sometimes iron oxide impregnation is attached to the growth ring distribution and looks like agate, this kind of wood fossils with jade texture can be called "agate like wood fossils".
