The Three Gorges waterfall, formerly known as Baiguoshu waterfall, is located in Xiaofeng scenic spot of Yichang. It is an AAAA scenic spot. It is known as the fourth waterfall of "China's top ten famous waterfalls". It is a natural geological museum displaying the Sinian, Ordovician, Cambrian and other geological ages. It is also a rare National Geopark integrating Canyon, karst cave, landscape and fossil culture in the world.

In October 2019, the Department of culture and tourism of Hubei Province decided to issue a notice of criticism to Yichang Three Gorges Waterfall Scenic Spot and order it to rectify, with a deadline of 3 months.

Features of scenic spots

The Three Gorges waterfall, Baiguoshu waterfall, is a famous tourist attraction at the Xiling Gorge of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. It is 34 kilometers away from Yichang City and is located in Taishan Temple of Xiaofeng scenic spot in Yichang city.

The Three Gorges waterfall stream is 5 km long, with more than 30 waterfalls distributed along the way. Upstream, Hukou waterfall, Yixian waterfall, Zhenzhu waterfall, Ya waterfall, Lianhuan waterfall, WuFan waterfall and other waterfalls come one after another. The main waterfall is about ten meters wide. The clear spring flows down from the steep cliff more than one hundred meters high. It is connected with the sky and the earth. The water, the sky, the fog and the sea are magnificent. Even if there is no rain for a long time, it is still full of flying springs. It is known as "the fourth in China and the first in Hubei".

The plant coverage rate in the canyon is more than 90%, the air is fresh, and the secluded Canyon stretches for 10 kilometers. Baiguoshu waterfall is famous for its high waterfall, beautiful scenery, dangerous mountains and clear water. There are more than 20 natural landscapes including goddess waterfall, zhipaste cave, sutra cave, shuilian cave, wuguixiaotian, jindiaoqiao, yinmayan, Sixiang, Baren Wudong, Yerengu, Baren characters, changqiaochaodu, fonanye, Baiguoshu main waterfall, Pearl Waterfall, Xiannv waterfall, Gulong lake, Xiannv lake, Taishan Giant Buddha, thousand year old fish fossils. The newly expanded Taishan Giant Buddha, facing south in the north, is 70 meters tall and 40 meters wide, vivid and magnificent.

Self driving along the exit of Hanyi Expressway Dongshan Development Zone, turn left to development avenue Xiaoxi tower turntable, turn right to Yixing highway Huanghua town Sancha (via jinshidong and lover spring scenic spot) - go 8 km to the Three Gorges waterfall. (there are striking signs for tourist attractions along the way)

Drive along Shanghai Chengdu Expressway G42 - Jingyi Expressway - Yiba Expressway - Yichang north exit, turn left to Yixing highway - Huanghua town fork (via jinshidong and lover spring scenic spot) - 8 km to the Three Gorges Waterfall Scenic spot.

3. Self help tour: to Yichang from all over the country, you can take bus No. 100 or 101 at Yiling square or railway dam to Xiaoxi tower terminal station, transfer to Xiaofeng bus (via lover spring scenic spot) and get off at Three Gorges Waterfall Scenic spot.
