Wuxisha
Wu Kai Sha (English: Wu Kai Sha), formerly known as wuguisha, is a peninsula in Shatin District of Hong Kong, adjacent to Ma'anshan. It used to be an outing resort in Hong Kong, but has developed into a residential area in recent years.
History and culture
Archaeologists found cultural relics in Ma'anshan and wuxisha in the late Neolithic period, which proved that wuxisha had been inhabited by human beings at that time.
In the early years, wuxisha was very remote, and there was no direct way to get there. At that time, the external transportation needed to rely on Jiedu. It was from the maliushui Wharf on the side of the University Station of the Kowloon Canton Railway to wuxisha. In the late 1980s, the government developed a new town in Ma'anshan, opened up a number of roads in Sha Tin to Ma'anshan and wuxisha, and also opened up the Xisha road to Sai Kung District. Since then, the traffic in wuxisha has become more convenient. In 2004, Ma'anshan Railway (now known as Ma'anshan line of MTR) was opened to traffic, and wuxisha station was built in the area. Today, the wharf is no longer in use.
In the 1980s, in order to cope with the serious problem of Vietnamese boat people at that time, the Hong Kong government built the Baishi boat people's center in wuxisha, which is a closed boat people's center. There were many riots and armed conflicts in this place at that time. As the problem of Vietnamese boat people was solved before the handover of sovereignty in 1997, the boat people had been repatriated to Vietnam, and the Baishi boat people's center had been demolished and rebuilt into a golf course The use of music.
In 2005, during the Sixth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization held in Hong Kong, more than 1000 farmers from South Korea once lived in wuxisha youth new village.
