Commander Ding Ruchang and captain Deng Shichang fought bravely and died in the end.
There are exhibition rooms for cultural relics of the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, wax museum and the place where Ding Ruchang died. There is also a museum of the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895. At 200 meters to the east of the wharf, there is a "Sino Japanese naval battle hall", which reproduces the soul stirring scene of the Sino Japanese naval battle by means of electricity, light, sound and other modern scientific and technological means, which is only seen in China.

In the east of Weihai City, in the west of the South Bank of Liugong Island, and in the northwest of the intersection of Liugong road and Qiding road. The whole building is a classical palace style building with painted pillars, carved beams, fine painting, vermilion columns and green tile cornices. In December 1977, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Shandong Province. It was renovated in 1978. There are eight exhibition halls, including the Sino Japanese War exhibition hall and the wax museum, displaying the historical relics and materials of the Sino Japanese war. In 1988, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit, which is the main part of the protection scope of Liugongdao Sino Japanese war memorial site.
