Liuhua Lake Park in Guangzhou covers an area of 54.43 hectares, of which 60% is lake water and 88% is green land. The current site of Liuhua Lake Park is said to be Zhilan Lake in Jin Dynasty, which later became a vegetable field.

Liuhua Lake Park is said to be Zhilan Lake in the Jin Dynasty. In 1958, the municipal government organized the people of the whole city to dig Liuhua Lake in order to ease the street flood. In addition to the function of water storage and flood control, Liuhua Lake is a large-scale comprehensive park integrating sightseeing, entertainment and recreation. The park combines palm plants, Ficus plants, flowering shrubs, open lawns and lakes with light and transparent Lingnan buildings to form a natural scenery with strong south subtropical characteristics.

Scale construction

The park is divided into three open areas: sightseeing and rest area, with palm plants as the main theme of greening, a school of South Subtropical scenery. There are some gardens and scenic spots, such as Mengyuan, Fuqiu, furongzhou, pukui dyke, etc., which reflect the Dai customs, and form a rest place for sightseeing. In the entertainment area, there are Pulin square, Baoxiang paradise and Rongyin playground with modern flavor, providing entertainment and leisure activities for tourists of different ages. There are agricultural parks full of fish, agriculture, garden, pottery and children's interests. Visitors can not only experience the fun of farm life, but also feel the comfort and pleasure of returning to nature. The flower and bird bonsai exhibition area includes the West Garden of "Lingnan bonsai house" with bonsai exhibition and stone appreciation as the main part, and the egret protection area and Liuhua bird garden with the name of "bird paradise in downtown area", which integrate landscape appreciation, bird watching and ecological protection.

Since July 1, 2009, liuhuahu park has been open for free.

Construction

Liuhuahu Park was built in 1958 by the municipal government to organize citizens' voluntary labor. At that time, it was under the management of Yuexiu Park Management Office in August 1965 and directly under the Guangzhou Bureau of landscape architecture in September 1980.

Liuhua Lake Park not only retains the original function of water storage and flood control, but also is a large comprehensive park integrating sightseeing, entertainment and recreation functions. The whole garden covers 54.4 hectares, of which the water area accounts for two-thirds of the total area, and the green area accounts for 88% of the land area. The park is divided into four districts: North District, with long and narrow grassland extending to both sides, including Rongyin playground, Baoxiang paradise, badminton court, Fuqiu garden, furongzhou and other places.

Main attractions

In addition, there is a bird island with an area of more than 3000 square meters. There are tens of thousands of egrets on the island, and there are bird watching teahouses and bird watching platforms. In the Eastern District, there are Xishuangbanna scenery garden, Mengli garden, Shibao, waterfall, huanxinv, Dujuan garden, Nanhai fishing village restaurant. In the Central District, there are Rongyin kuidi, Xinguang Garden Restaurant and fitness music garden. In the Southern District, there are a large area of Luoli garden adjacent to Guangzhou Children's palace Yusonglin, as well as Pulin tea house, Taoyuan Hotel, shade plant shed and other facilities, the scenery is quiet. The west end of the park is bonsai garden, and the east end is the famous bird garden.

The opening hours of the park: 6:00-22:00, Liuhua Dongyuan Art Museum: 9:00-16:00, Xiyuan, Fuqiu and Rose Garden: 8:00-17:00.

1. Take bus No.15 and get off at Liuhua Road station. 2. Take bus No.12, 15, 31, 38, 42, 103, 181, 186, 202 to the south gate. 3. Take subway line 2, get off at Yuexiu Park Station and walk west for 500 meters.

Liuhuahu Park, north of Dongfeng West Road. The total area is 540000 square meters, of which the water area is 330000 square meters.
