Deep Water Bay
Deep water bay, located in the middle of the South Bank of Southern District of Hong Kong, is one of the swimming beaches in Hong Kong. It is located to the northwest of Repulse Bay and to the east of Nam Long Shan. Besides the beach, there are many noble houses nearby. The Chinese name of deep water bay is derived from its deep water depth.
Introduction to scenic spots
Deep water bay has a beautiful environment, but it is quieter than shallow water bay. Many Hong Kong tycoons, such as Li Ka Shing and Kadoorie families, live in deep water bay. Deep water bay also has the largest golf course on Hong Kong Island, with 9 holes, half the size of a standard 18 hole course.
Deep water bay is one of the beaches managed by the Hong Kong leisure and Cultural Services Department. It is equipped with changing rooms, shower facilities and lifeguards. The beach also has a barbecue area and a car park.
Traffic information
Take bus No. 6, 6a, 6x or 260 at the central Exchange Square bus terminus and get off near deep water bay beach.
Travel notes
When the shark flag and red flag are hoisted at beaches in Hong Kong, it means that sharks, red tides, big waves or polluted sea water can be found. Therefore, we must pay attention to the radio and do not enter the water.
