Dongqiao building

Located in Zhonghe street of Shexian City, it was built in 1150 A.D. in the 20th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is located in the east of the gate of the original Yamen. Qiaolou is 12 meters wide, 10 meters deep and 13 meters high, covering an area of 120 square meters. Double eaves for the double-layer Pavilion, Xie hilltop, high ridge angle. The main beam is erected on the high platform, and the lower part is the gate, through which the street passes. It is a cultural relic protection unit in Anhui Province.

Architectural pattern

Dongqiaolou, also known as "Yanghe gate", is located on the west side of Xuguo Shifang, a national security unit in Shexian county. It was built in 1150 of Shaoxing in Southern Song Dynasty, and the existing building is in Qing Dynasty. The building is three stories high, with two-story beams on the high platform and square gates below, through which the street passes. The top floor is a virtual Pavilion, with a rest on the top. Dongqiao tower originated from the theory of Canyu family: the facade faces east, belonging to the "a" side, named "Yinghe", which can be used to govern the country; another theory: previously, fires occurred frequently in the city, and the building faces east, which can be used to "Yanhuo", so it is called "yanhuomen", which is refined into "Yanghe gate".

Cultural relic value

Before 1503, dongqiaolou building was equipped with time reporting equipment, such as bronze pot, night sky pool, moon sky pool, flat pot, ten thousand water pot, water sea shadow watch, Dingnan needle, gengcao, missing arrow, etc.
