Fanguanong is located at No. 997, Qiujiang Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai. When it comes to "fanguanong", people always think that it is a miniature of the shanty towns in old Shanghai. In fact, in the 1920s, it was a prosperous place in the southwest of Zhabei. "Fanguanong" plot was originally a low-lying area blocked by Wusong River in the middle of Ming Dynasty. At that time, it was a reed marsh. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the victims from the Yangtze Huaihe River and the Yellow River flooded areas came to reclaim wasteland and settled down, gradually forming the meiyuantou plot. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Zhabei was the main land link between Jiading, Taicang, Baoshan counties and Shanghai counties.
