history
In 1874, Wudao, a military officer in Qiandong, Guizhou Province, returned to his hometown to visit his relatives. Wu deeply regretted that he did not read much while chatting with his relatives and friends. At the same time, he was deeply worried about the backwardness of Miao and Han people's culture in his hometown. He decided to set up education in his hometown to cultivate talents and improve the cultural quality of his children.
The Qing court once issued a pension for the soldiers who died in battle, some of which were not received. At the end of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, Wu spontaneously transported him back to Fenghuang and built an academy named "Santan academy" on the hill above Wanrongjiang Santan (yangliutan, luobutan and qishutan) in deshengying. He also bought 160 mu of land for the academy as the school property.
In 1914, to commemorate Wu Chengzhai, the people of deshengying changed the Academy into "Cuncheng school". After the county office was ordered to restructure, the tenth primary school was set up in this school. Therefore, the "ten small counties" and "Cuncheng" stand side by side. Due to the increase of students and the shortage of school buildings, more than ten school buildings were added. Students are divided into two parts: higher and elementary. At that time, teachers' salaries, students' books, lamp oil, and poor students' subsidies were all provided by the school. In the spring of 1937, the county No. 10 primary school, Cuncheng primary school and the county No. 2 girls' primary school in the same area merged into the county No. 4 primary school, which is still located in Santan Academy. In 1940, the "four primary schools" was changed to "Weiwen Township Central Primary School". After liberation, it was renamed Jixin complete primary school.
