The large (2) reservoir on Yingwen river is mainly for irrigation, combined with flood control, power generation, industrial water supply, fish culture and tourism. It is named after Xueye town.

General situation of reservoir

Xueye Reservoir is located in the former site of Xueye village on Yingwen River, 30 kilometers northwest of Laicheng, Laiwu District, Shandong Province. It is located in the center of Shandong Province, 20 kilometers away from Laicheng and 46 kilometers away from Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. There are the south line of Jinan Qingdao Expressway and the provincial roads 242, 244 and 237 in the area, with convenient transportation. The control basin covers an area of 444 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 221 million cubic meters, a profitable storage capacity of 112 million cubic meters, and a dead storage capacity of 03 million cubic meters. The dam site area is composed of hard granite. The reservoir basin has a north temperate southeast monsoon climate, with an average annual precipitation of 760 mm, an average annual runoff of 88 million cubic meters and an irrigation area of 9700 hectares. The primary tributaries in the reservoir area are Tongtian River and Weishi River, and the larger secondary tributaries are upstream river. There are 5 small (1) reservoirs and 19 small (2) reservoirs in shangcha, Shicheng, shangfashan, Lingdong and hujiazhuang, with a total area of 149.77 square kilometers and a total capacity of 11.1097 million cubic meters.

The construction of the reservoir began on November 10, 1959. The first phase of the project was completed in 1960. The second phase was started in 1965 and completed in July 1966. The project consists of main dam, auxiliary dam, spillway gate, East and West Drainage Tunnels and hydropower station. The flood control standard of the reservoir is designed once every 100 years and checked once every 2000 years. The reservoir dam is a sand shell dam with clay core, with a length of 1200 meters, a crest elevation of 239.5 meters and a dam height of 30 meters. From 1973 to 1975, the Xueye Reservoir hydropower station was built, with an installed capacity of 800 kW and a generator of 250 kW. From 1996 to 2000, 52.25 million yuan was invested by the state, province and city to reinforce the reservoir in two phases.

Reservoir benefit

In 1994, the flood peak discharge of Xueye Reservoir was 2640 cubic meters per second. After the reservoir impounded, the flood discharge was only 80 cubic meters per second, reducing the flood peak by 97%. The reservoir irrigation area is a supporting artesian irrigation project for the reservoir. It was developed in 1960. In 1976, the earth canal was transformed into stone canal, which is divided into main canal, East Canal and West Canal, with a total length of 62.01 km. It passes through 167 natural villages in 9 towns, with an irrigation area of 14733 hectares. The terrain of the irrigation area is high in the north and low in the south. The crops in the irrigation area are mainly wheat and corn. It is the main grain production base in Laiwu district. The reservoir supplied water to Laiwu power plant in 1992, Laicheng Power Plant in 2000 and Laigang Group in 2004, with an average annual industrial water supply of 35 million cubic meters. In November 1962, Xueye Reservoir succeeded in fishing with machine boat purse seine net. It caught 4591 kg fish in 16 days. From 1986 to 2000, the amount of irrigation water supply was 780 million cubic meters, the water surface area of reservoir fish culture was 566 hectares, the area of cage fish culture was 8.67 hectares, and the cumulative catch of fresh fish was 20386 tons, with an average annual output of 1359 tons.

Scenic environment

Around the reservoir, there are undulating mountains and emerald forests. With beautiful scenery, you can take a boat, fish, swim and enjoy the water. You can also walk up the mountain and enjoy the mountain. It is an ideal place for summer vacation and sightseeing. Ma'anshan, which is famous far and near to the north of the reservoir, stands out from the top of two groups of mountains

To the south of the reservoir, the legendary luzudong attracts more and more tourists. To the north, it is the rolling Qi Great Wall, and to the East, it is the famous revolutionary memorial site of Laiwu, wangyangtai. To the west, 2.5km, it is the xidashan with a flat top surrounded by pines and cypresses. To the southwest, it is 3km, Located in a hanging sheep hanging Drum Mountain, it is tall and steep, with unique scenery. There is only one mountain road leading to the top, which can be described as "one man is in charge of the pass, ten thousand people can't open it"; there is also an east-west mountain stream, a hunting ground surrounded by mountains and flowing water all the year round.

History of scenic spots

After the tourism development in 1993, Xueye Lake scenic spot was formed and developed with the characteristics of lake mountain fishing, water boat sightseeing and "Xueye Yutou soup". Xueye lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides, forming a beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains. Ma'anshan in the east of lake and yangdiaogu mountain in the west of lake have been preliminarily developed. Because the lake water is very suitable for breeding freshwater fish and fishing. Therefore, in addition to attracting a large number of tourists from Jinan, Zibo and other places every year, Shandong Fishing Association has held three consecutive fishing competitions here. In the summer of 1997, the 13th National fishing competition was also held here.

As of January 2010, the highest water level is 232.00 in 2007 (freezing interface, the difference from the Yellow Sea base level is - 0.47)

General situation of River Basin

Xueye Reservoir is located in the upper reaches of Yingwen River, a tributary of Dawen River, 30km northwest of Laiwu City, and in the north of dadongnuan village, Xueye Town, Laicheng district. The dam site is located at 117 ° 35 ′ E, It is 36 ° 24 'north latitude, with a controlled drainage area of 438 square kilometers, a total reservoir capacity of 221 million cubic meters, a profitable reservoir capacity of 114 million cubic meters, and a dead reservoir capacity of 2.8 million cubic meters. It is a large (second) type water conservancy project with flood control as the main function and comprehensive utilization of urban water supply, irrigation, breeding and tourism development. The drainage area map of Xueye Reservoir is shown in Figure 1, and the test river section plan of Xueye Reservoir Station is shown in Figure 2.

Physical and geographical characteristics of River Basin

Xueye Reservoir Basin is located in the eastern foot of Mount Tai, which belongs to warm temperate continental monsoon climate zone. According to the data statistics from 1963 to 2007, the average annual precipitation of the reservoir basin is 709.3mm, with great interannual variation. The maximum annual precipitation is 1083.9mm (1990), and the minimum annual precipitation is 316.2mm (1989). The distribution of precipitation in the year is also very uneven. There is little rain in the dry season and concentrated precipitation in the flood season. The precipitation from June to September accounts for 75.8% of the annual precipitation, forming a situation of drought in spring, flood in summer and drought after autumn. The runoff of Xueye Reservoir is recharged by atmospheric precipitation, and its temporal variation characteristics are similar to precipitation, but the inter annual and intra annual variation is greater.

Xueye Reservoir is located in the upper reaches of Yingwen river. Yingwen river originates from the foot of huangshiya mountain in southwest valley of Zhangqiu City. The terrain in the basin is mostly hilly in the upper reaches, with gentle hillsides and plains distributed in the middle and lower reaches. The terrain below ziguanli town is mostly shallow mountain area. The basin is fan-shaped, with an average width of about 10.9km. The main stream above the reservoir is 39.4km long, with a slope of 0.00815m/m. The underlying bedrock in the basin is mainly limestone and gneiss, with soft rock. The weathering depth is generally 10-20m. The rock at the bottom is fresh and hard, without karst cave and spring. The landform of the basin is mostly sandy loam, with many terraces in the valley. The vegetation in the basin is poor, and the crops are mainly wheat, corn and peanut.

Water conservancy projects

The basin is distributed in Laicheng district and a part of Zhangqiu City. The upper reaches of the stations are mountainous areas. There are four small reservoirs in the upper reaches of the basin. The controlled drainage area is 48.6 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 5.6 million cubic meters and a total profit making storage capacity of 3.89 million cubic meters. Xueye Reservoir project is mainly composed of dam, spillway gate, water conveyance tunnel and power station. The engineering elevation datum is 56 Yellow Sea datum.

The main dam of the reservoir is a sand shell dam with clay core, with a total length of 1200m, a maximum dam height of 30.30m and a crest elevation of 239.50m; the auxiliary dam is a homogeneous earth dam, with a total length of 552m, a maximum dam height of 8.37m and a crest elevation of 239.50m. The spillway is built with 8-hole (10 m × 6 m) spillway gate and flat steel gate. The bottom elevation of the gate is 225.70 M. the weir is hump weir with height of 0.40 m, spillway length of 625 m and maximum discharge of 2844 m3 / s.

There are two water conveyance tunnels in the East and west of the reservoir. The west water conveyance tunnel is a corridor type reinforced concrete pressure lined pipe. In 1973, it was lined with a steel pipe of Ф 1.9m and a flat steel gate with an inlet bottom elevation of 214.50m and a maximum water conveyance flow of 30 M3 / s. The East water conveyance tunnel is a corridor type reinforced concrete pressure lined pipe of Ф 0.8m and a gate valve with an inlet bottom elevation of 222.00m and a maximum water conveyance flow of 3.0 m3 / s. There is a power station at the west water transmission tunnel, which is equipped with two units with a total installed capacity of 1050kw. See table 1-2 for details.
