Shang and Zhou Dynasty ruins in Liulihe, Fangshan

The Liulihe site is about 3.5 km long from east to west and 1.5 km wide from south to north. It consists of three parts: ancient city site, tomb area and residential site. The site of the ancient city is located in the middle of the site. It was built in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. There are 850 meters long north wall and 300 meters long north half of the East-West wall on the surface. The tombs are located in the southeast of the city, most of which are located in Huangtupo village. The tombs are divided into three types: large, medium and small. They are all rectangular vertical caves. The medium and small tombs have two layers of clay platform, and the large tombs have two paths. Among the funerary objects, the small tombs are mainly pottery, the medium tombs are mainly bronze, and the large tombs have been stolen. The residential site is located in the city and the west of the city, and houses, pits, wells, ash pits and other sites have been found. Over the past 30 years, a large number of bronzes and pottery products have been unearthed in the tomb area. In 1986, during the excavation of tomb 1193 at Huangtupo cemetery in Liulihe, bronze wares such as Keli and Keli were unearthed. The inscriptions of Kehe recorded the historical facts of the king of Zhou conferring the title of marquis Yan and granting people and territory in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. The oracle bones with the word "Chengzhou" unearthed in recent years have become the important evidence of "Xia Shang Zhou dating project" to determine the age of Yandu city site.
