Yaji mountain scenic spot
Yaji mountain scenic spot is 75 kilometers away from Beijing. Yaji mountain is named for its two peaks, which are higher than the clouds and are shaped like a bun. The scenic spot is a tourist attraction integrating natural scenery and religious (Taoist) temples.
Introduction to scenic spots
Yaji mountain, a famous Taoist Holy Land in East Beijing, is located in the north of liujiadian Town, Pinggu District. It faces southeast in the northwest. It is full of green pines and cypresses. Although the height of Yaji mountain is only 361 meters, its back is close to Yanshan mountain, facing the plain, and it is pulled up on the flat ground. Therefore, from afar, the peaks stand towering, which is quite majestic. The top of the mountain has two peaks, which are like two buns on a girl's head, so it is called Yaji mountain.
It is said that Yajishan temple was built in the early Tang Dynasty, with a history of more than 1300 years. After the Liao and Jin Dynasties, it flourished in the yuan and Ming Dynasties, and reached its peak in the Kangxi and Qianlong periods of the Qing Dynasty. The Qing emperors drove the mountain of xingyaji many times and granted it the titles of "Jinding", "Jidong taidai", "Jinji Fudi" and "Lingying Palace". After thousands of years of continuous repair and expansion, Yaji mountain has finally become a famous Taoist mountain with a large scale of ancient buildings. Looking up from the Zixiao Palace at the foot of the mountain, all kinds of ancient buildings built on the mountain are lined up all over the hillside, which is very grand and magnificent. Before liberation, most old Beijingers knew that there were two old sayings in the past: one was "Beijing City - Yaji mountain in the East, Miaofeng Mountain in the west"; the other was "lion of Lugou Bridge, monument of Yaji mountain".
There is a local folk legend about this mountain peak: the queen mother set up a peach banquet and ordered the fairy boy to offer wine. The fairy boy accidentally overturned the jade pot and spilled the slurry on the earth, becoming the wrong river at the foot of the mountain. The queen mother was so angry that she drove the fairy child down to earth and turned him into a mountain. Legend is naturally a folk association, but it adds a bit of magic color to this scenic spot.
