Laozhanggou

Laozhanggou is the source of Miyun Baihe River, which is located at the junction of Hebei and Inner Mongolia. It belongs to the transition zone from Mongolian Plateau to North China summer green forest.

With overlapping mountains and ravines, sparsely populated and crisp weather, it is very suitable for summer vacation. It is also an excellent place for camping and star watching.

There is a Golden Lotus Villa in laozhanggou. In summer, the Golden Lotus Villa is full of bees and butterflies, springs and scenery.

The most famous way to play here is cross-country crossing, but the route is difficult. It's recommended to drive an off-road vehicle, and the driving skills should be excellent.

Laozhanggou is located in Guyuan County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, 200 kilometers southeast of Beijing. There are overlapping mountains and valleys. There is a small stream in the center with a large number of springs beside it. It is the source of Heihe River, a tributary of Baihe River. It belongs to the transition zone from Mongolian Plateau to summer green forest in North China.

In August 2019, laozhanggou village will complete the whole village reconstruction and realize the centralized resettlement of poor households.

Laozhanggou has a variety of landforms and natural scenery, located in the south of Guyuan County, Hebei Province, outside the ancient Great Wall. There are wild Betula platyphylla at the south foot of the canyon, almost all weeds at the north foot, surrounded by green hills, and long, steep and very inclined soil slopes everywhere. The rivers in the mountains are not very deep. It is more than ten kilometers long.

In laozhanggou, there is a Jinlian mountain villa, 1800 meters above sea level, covering a total area of 60000 mu. In summer, the Jinlian mountain villa is full of bees and butterflies, springs and boundless scenery. Jinlian mountain villa is named after Golden Lotus, which is a rare wild plant and famous medicinal material. It can make tea and grows above 1800 meters above sea level. Near jinlianchuan, most of them are covered by forests, mainly secondary forests of Larix principis rupprechtii (Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica) and Betula platyphylla. In the forest gap and sunny hillside, there are widely distributed mountain meadows and sparse forest grasslands. There are many kinds of plants here, including many woody plants with economic value and ornamental value, and many beautiful herbaceous flowers. Jinlianhua is a natural wild flower outside the Great Wall A botanical garden.

Development and evolution

In August 2018, China Construction Second Engineering Bureau undertook the reconstruction of five natural villages including laozhanggou village.

In August 2019, the second construction bureau of China spent one year to overcome the adverse natural environment, transforming the low and dilapidated houses into rows of red tile houses, realizing the centralized resettlement of poor households.

Laozhanggou - it's like thunder in the cross-country circle. There are not only some undeveloped natural beauty, but also some difficult paths for car training. There are green mountains and green waters around. It's very luxurious to practice in such beautiful scenery.

Route overview: day 1 Beijing laozhanggou day 2 return trip

Plan 1: start from Beijing urban area, go to G6 (Beijing Tibet Expressway) and then continue to go westward (about 80km) to Shacheng < / I exit and get off the expressway. After getting off the expressway from the exit of Shacheng, go up to provincial highway 241, and then follow provincial highway 241 through Chicheng to reach < I Xiaochang < / I (about 150km). After that, drive southward from Xiaochang to X404 road for fengyuandian, and then reach laozhanggou 25 km later.

Plan 2: from Changping along S212, through Shisanling Town, Yanshou Town, DAZHUANGKE Township, Yongning Town, Xiangying Township, to the north end of Baihebao reservoir, turn north to s309 to Qianjiadian Town, through X002 on Qianjiadian bridge to huapen village, up to X404, through Dongmao Town, dongwankou Township, Baicao township (batuying bridge to Baicao town is the overlapping section of X404 and G112), and Sandaochuan township to laozhanggou. (it is recommended to drive off-road vehicles. Other vehicles should be cautious and slow.)

Line features: after arriving at laozhanggou, you can play, practice, barbecue and camp. This is a classic self driving cross-country line that pays attention to both driving fun and outdoor activities.

Driving level: off-road entry-level, after reaching laozhanggou, you can have a big cross-country competition, here is a natural training ground.

Cross country road conditions: about 180 kilometers of asphalt road, is the original forest farm. It is mainly the barrier road and cobblestone road.

Driving skills: when driving in such natural field terrain, first you need to know the minimum height of the vehicle from the ground. When driving on a rock heap or dry river bed, it is necessary to avoid the chassis bumping against rocks. Usually, the four-wheel drive mode is adopted, and the gearbox is in first gear. When encountering rocks that cannot be crushed, the small ones will get off the car and try to move them. When the large ones are in front of the stones, small stones will be placed to make them pass in a stepped shape. It is necessary to pay attention to placing stones at the other end of the stones, otherwise the chassis will encounter protruding stones after the front wheels. This method is suitable for dry river bed, paved gravel road in mountainous area, rubble mound, Gobi desert and washboard road.

Necessary equipment: map, compass, GPS, inverter (220 V output can be connected to laptop, mobile phone charging, etc.), simple repair tools, spare tire (preferably double spare tire), trailer rope, emergency stop warning sign, tire screw and other consumable and vulnerable parts.

Tips: although some of the water surface ditches here look shallow, there are more sand and stones in the water, so we need to pay special attention to them when passing through the water.

1. Starting from the urban area of Beijing, go to G6 (Beijing Tibet Expressway), then continue westward (about 80km) to shachengkou and get off the expressway. After getting off the expressway from the exit of Shacheng, go up to provincial highway 241, and then follow provincial highway 241 through Chicheng to Xiaochang (about 150km). After that, drive southward from Xiaochang to X404 road for fengyuandian, and reach laozhanggou 25 km later.

2.
