The former site of the Anti Japanese base in eastern Zhejiang is located in hengkantou village, Liangnong town. The revolutionary base in eastern Zhejiang with Siming Mountain as the center was one of the 19 liberated areas in China during the Anti Japanese War and one of the seven guerrilla bases in the South during the war of liberation.
In March 2005, the former site of the CPC Zhedong District Committee (located in Cixi) was merged with the former site of the CPC Zhedong District Committee in Liangnong, Yuyao, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, and was renamed the former site of the Anti Japanese base in Zhedong. In June 2006, it was announced as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
Historical evolution
In April 1941, Yuyao fell into the enemy's hands. About 900 people from the fifth detachment of Songhu guerrillas in the third war zone, led by the Shanghai Party of the Communist Party of China, crossed the Hangzhou Bay in seven groups and entered the "Three North" (north of Yuyao, Cixi and Zhenhai counties). In July 1942, Tan Qilong, secretary and he Kexi, Yang Siyi and Gu Dehuan, members of the eastern Zhejiang District Committee of the Communist Party of China, were established. In August, the three North guerrilla headquarters was established and later changed into the eastern Zhejiang guerrilla column of the New Fourth Army. He Kexi served as commander and Tan Qilong served as political commissar, unifying the Anti Japanese forces in eastern Zhejiang. In April 1943, Liang Nong was conquered. In August, the district Party committee and the headquarters stationed in hengkantou village and Lianglong Town, forming an anti Japanese base in eastern Zhejiang with Lianglong in the hinterland of Siming Mountain as the command center. From May 1941 to the end of September 1945, the Party committee of the eastern Zhejiang District led the army and the people in eastern Zhejiang. They fought 643 times, conquered Nanhui and Shangyu counties, conquered more than 110 strongholds, liberated 4 million compatriots, and killed, wounded and captured more than 9000 Japanese puppet troops. They made brilliant achievements and added a glorious page to the history of the Anti Japanese War of the Chinese nation.
In July 1942, according to the instructions of the CPC Central Committee, the central China Bureau and the New Fourth Army decided to further develop the areas behind the enemy lines in eastern Zhejiang. They established the CPC eastern Zhejiang Regional Committee in mijiadai, Cixi, to lead the party, government and army work in eastern Zhejiang and Pudong. In October of the same year, the district Party committee entered Yaonan and settled in Lianglong town in August 1943. Soon after, Liangnong town became the command center of the Anti Japanese base in eastern Zhejiang. In July 1945, the district Party committee moved to Fenghui Town, Shangyu county. He was ordered to leave in October. The former site is a building in the late Qing Dynasty. It is a wooden courtyard with seven rooms in the West and double eaves on the top of the mountain. It covers an area of 596 square meters. It was rebuilt in 1981. It is now a memorial hall for the revolutionary base in eastern Zhejiang.

Establishment of Zhejiang East District Party committee
In July 1942, the central China Bureau of the Communist Party of China decided to establish the Party committee of eastern Zhejiang. The former two houses of MI Zhangxiao, a native of MI Jiadai, were used as office addresses, while the latter were occupied by Mi family. The MI family opened the MI Dachang cigarette shop in Qinghefang, Hangzhou, which is a local rich merchant. The house has three entrances, facing south from north. On the central axis, it is composed of the main gate, main hall and back building. The East and west sides are Xiang Lou. The front gate is three Bay wide with single slope top. The entrance is patio; the second entrance is main hall with five rooms and two lanes. Mingjian is a compound building with double eaves and high hall. It is a mixed structure with beams and buckets. The front porch is set up, and the other secondary rooms are two-story houses with stairs and sandwich rooms on both sides, which are connected with the East and West Wing rooms. The wing rooms on both sides are two-story buildings, with three bays on the surface and mixed structure of beam lifting and bucket piercing.
After the southern Anhui Incident, the CPC Central Committee made plans to create more strategic units to meet the needs of the Anti Japanese struggle in the Shanghai Hangzhou Ningbo triangle region. According to this instruction, central China Bureau sent Tan Qilong to Sanbei in 1942 to take charge of the work of the Party committee of eastern Zhejiang, develop the Anti Japanese armed forces, and gradually form the base of Siming Mountain. Liang Nong, the Anti Japanese base area in eastern Zhejiang, as the military command center, led the people of eastern Zhejiang to fight against aggression.
In August 1943, the CPC Zhedong District Committee and the three North guerrilla headquarters entered hengkantou village and Lianglong town of Yuyao, and gradually formed an anti Japanese base in eastern Zhejiang with Siming Mountain as its foundation and Lianglong as its military command center. In the short three years from the establishment of the CPC Zhedong District Committee to its withdrawal from the north after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the Party committee of Zhedong District, closely relying on the vast number of Party members and the masses of the people in Zhedong region, has won a major victory in the struggle against "clearing the countryside, mopping up and encroachment". In November 1944, it was awarded by the Party Central Committee and Chairman Mao. Before the withdrawal to the north, the eastern Zhejiang Anti Japanese base had four regional political power, 16 county-level political power, 4 million population and more than 10000 armed forces, becoming one of the eight major strategic areas in Central China and one of the 19 Anti Japanese base areas in China.
Establishment of old address
In 1986, the former site of the CPC Zhedong District Committee was announced as the third batch of cultural relics protection units by Cixi County People's government. In 1995 and 2000, they were named patriotic education base by Cixi Municipal People's government and Ningbo Municipal People's government respectively.
The former site of the establishment of the CPC Zhedong District Committee is now open to the outside world, with the theme display of "Three North situation" and "Three North guerrilla headquarters, the revolutionary armed forces in the revolutionary base area of eastern Zhejiang". It is an important place for Cixi City to carry out revolutionary tradition education and patriotism education for the masses.

The former site of the Party committee of eastern Zhejiang district is located in hengkantou village between green mountains and clear waters. It is a wooden structure residence in Qing Dynasty. To the east of Nanxiang building are seven main buildings, to the West are BEIXIANG buildings, and the three main buildings are connected by eaves. The main building is a hard peak building with double eaves and a bucket beam structure. The width of the main building is 28.35 meters, with ten purlins, seven columns and a depth of 11.60 meters. The width of the open space is 4.45 meters, that of the secondary space is 4 meters, and that of the side space is 3.95 meters. The north and South chambers are 7.40 meters wide, each divided into two rooms, 3.70 meters wide and 6.95 meters deep. They are of bucket girder structure with nine purlins and six columns. In front of the main building is a courtyard, and the ground is paved with stone slabs. In front of the courtyard is a high wall. In 1992, it was officially named the eastern Zhejiang revolutionary base memorial hall, which was proposed by Wang Fang, the former Minister of public security. At the front door, there is a stele inscribed by general Zhang Aiping, the former Minister of national defense, "the former site of the eastern Zhejiang District Committee of the Communist Party of China." it is a provincial cultural relic protection unit and a provincial patriotic education base in Zhejiang Province. Lianglong town and hengkantou village are also famous historical and cultural towns and villages at the provincial level. In the vicinity of the former site, there are still old sites such as the new Zhedong newspaper, Zhedong bank, the teaching brigade of Zhedong column of the New Fourth Army, Zhedong administrative office, and the Anti Japanese military and political cadre school. In xuanjiata village, about one kilometer away from hengkantou village, there is the former site of East Zhejiang branch of Lu Xun college.
