On the front and back of the main room, there are horizontal plaques engraved on the sun: "benevolence and charity", the first paragraph: "Wupin lady Wu's Square", and the second paragraph: "the construction of Gu Dan in the middle of winter in the eighth year of Guangxu". There are figures and flowers carving around the square. The craft is exquisite, showing ingenuity. Now the archway is well preserved. Leshan Haoshi square was built in the 25th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty.
Legend has it that
During the Jiaqing period, the military pay of Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces was very poor. The Bao family released the military pay of the three provinces for three years. At that time, due to the flood of the Yellow River and the Huaihe River, the Bao family donated 40000 Dan of wheat, 60000 Dan of rice and 100000 people to the disaster relief. They also donated money to build the 800 Li embankment of the Huaihe River. Not only that, the Bao family also set up Yitian, set up Yixue, paved bridges and built roads. Officials in the imperial court, such as the Minister of rites, the governor of Liangjiang and the governor of Anhui Province, wrote to the emperor one after another asking him to set up a "righteousness" square for Bao. Emperor Jiaqing finally built the memorial archway of "benevolence and charity" because of the Bao family's "repeated donations and losses, repeated orders of kindness, discussed the merits and added a beard".
According to legend, the Bao family in Tangyue had "loyalty", "filial piety" and "chastity" archways at that time, but only "righteousness" archways were missing. When the Bao family in his village arrived at Bao Shufang, he went to Lianghuai salt transportation department to master the lifeline of Jiangnan salt industry. He wanted the emperor's permission to build a square with the word "righteousness" to honor his ancestors. He donated 100000 Dan of grain, 30000 liang of silver, 800 li of riverbank, and military pay to the three provinces. This was granted by the imperial court. As a result, another memorial archway with the meaning of "charity" was built at the head of Tangyue village.
