Changle City is located in the southeast coast of China. It is the gateway of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. It is one of the few "two ports" cities in China. It is one of the coastal open cities (counties) promulgated by the state. It was also the anchor of Zheng He's seven voyages to the West in Ming Dynasty, six of which started in Changle. Fujian Province is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, which is distributed all over the world. Overseas Chinese are mainly distributed in Canada, the United States, Europe, South America and Southeast Asia. They are also the ancestral home of Taiwan compatriots. They are mainly distributed in Taiwan before the Qing Dynasty. Changle, a city with history, culture and economy, was called "Zou Lu on the seashore" in ancient times. Changle district (belonging to Changle County of Fuzhou Prefecture in ancient times) is the jurisdiction of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, whose name is derived from the meaning of "Chang'an jiule" in the book of songs. It is located in the South Bank of Minjiang Estuary, in the middle of the coastline of Yangtze River Estuary and Pearl River Estuary, and across the sea from Taiwan Island. The landform belongs to a small area with low mountains and hills, which are slightly in the shape of "Gong", distributed in the middle and south. The eastern part is the open coastal plain, and the western part is Yingqian Yutian Plain; by the end of 2017, the total population was 736600; it has jurisdiction over 4 streets, 12 towns and 2 townships.
Changle district has air sea land three-axis traffic, one of the few air sea "two ports" urban areas in China, which is one of the open counties (cities) promulgated by the state. Changle Taiping port is the birthplace of Zheng He's seven voyages to the west, where gongcha Fangshan sprouts and tribute salt are produced; it is also a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China, where overseas Chinese are distributed all over the world, and also the ancestral place of Taiwan compatriots; it has the reputation of "coastal Zou Lu, famous literature nation", "hometown of overseas Chinese, strong private enterprises".

Historical evolution
Changle County was established in the sixth year of Wude (623).
During the Three Kingdoms period, Dongwu built ships at wuhangtou (today's wuhangzhen) in Liuping, and set up a canon ship as a captain to gather the exiles (criminals) of the Eastern Han Dynasty to build ships here. Wu Hang also got its name. Therefore, it is also called Wu Hang. In the Huidi period of Jin Dynasty, Taikang in Yangzhou was divided into Jian'an county and Jin'an county. Changle belonged to Fengxian County (now Fuzhou) in Jin'an county. In the Wei and Jin Dynasties, there were Heyang township (now Wuhang town), Daiyang township (now daibian village of Shouzhan town), Beiyan township (now the junction of Tantou and Jinfeng), Jinping township (now Luolian township), fang'an township (now northwest of Jiangtian town) and Changyang township (now Beishan Village) Changle township (now Shajing Village).
During the great cause of Sui Dynasty, Jin'an county was changed into Jian'an County, and Changle belonged to Min county. The territory of the Sui Dynasty is Min county.
In the sixth year of Wude (623), Xinning County was separated from Min county. The county was governed by dunsuli, Pingchuan (now huaizhen) and Quanzhou (now Fuzhou). In the same year, Chang'an was renamed Changle County. In the second year of Shengli (699), eight townships in the south of Changle County were set up in Wan'an county (now Fuqing). Its land area is 545.5 square kilometers. In the second year of Jingyun (711), Quanzhou was changed to minzhou, and Changle County belonged to minzhou. In the first year of Shangyuan Dynasty (760), Changle County government moved to wuhangtou (now wuhangzhen). In the third year of Yuanhe (808), Changle County was merged into Futang county (now Fuqing). Yuanhe five years (810), the restoration of Changle County.
After five dynasties, it was renamed Anchang County in the first year of Qianhua (911).
In the first year of Tongguang in the later Tang Dynasty (923), it was renamed Changle County. In the fourth year of Changxing in the late Tang Dynasty (933), Wang Yanjun, king of Fujian, became emperor, and Changle County was renamed Houguan county. In the second year of the late Tang Dynasty (the first year of minyonghe, 935), it was renamed Changle County.
Later Jin Dynasty Tianfu six years (min Yonglong three years, 941), renamed Anchang county. The next year, it was renamed Changle County.
In the sixth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1373), Panasonic was transferred from Fuqing county (now Fuqing City) to Changle County. The boundary monument still exists, and the land area increased by 2 square kilometers. After that, the name of Fuzhou was changed many times, and Changle County was subordinate to it.

In January 1934, the "Fujian change" failed. In July, Changle County, subordinate to the first administrative supervision district, was the residence of the Commissioner's office of the supervision district. Gaoxian, Guangsu, Zhide, Qinren, Shaohui and Jiangzuo Liuli areas of Minhou County were put under the jurisdiction of Changle County, and the boundary stele was set up in Taisui Keng, with the land area increased by 112.5 square kilometers.
In April 1947, the first district commissioner's office moved to Fu'an county. Changle and other eight counties and two cities are directly under the jurisdiction of Fujian provincial government.
In February 1994, Changle County was set up as a city, still under the jurisdiction of Fuzhou City.
On November 6, 2017, Changle City was divided into districts, and the former administrative region of Changle City was the administrative region of Changle district.

In 1949, the people's Republic of China was founded. Changle has one town and five districts, with jurisdiction over 138 townships. Chengguan town is located in Wuhang, Heshang District in Shajing, Jiangtian District in Jiangtian, Jinfeng District in Jinfeng, Yingqian District in Yingqian, and Yutian District in Yutian. There are 159 townships in the county.
In the spring of 1950, Chengguan District (including Chengguan town) was set up, followed by the Sixth District (Tantou District, in Tantou). In 1951, Chengguan District was changed to the first district, Heshang district to the Second District, and Jiangtian district to the seventh district. In the summer of 1952, the ancient locust district was added as the eighth district (in ancient locust) and the plum blossom district was added as the ninth district (in plum blossom).
On August 23, 1955, nine districts were merged into six districts: Yingqian, Dongdu, Heshang, Jiangtian, Jinfeng and Tantou.
In April 1956, the six districts were reduced to one town and four districts, with jurisdiction over 52 townships. Chengguan Town governs Xiguan, Shengde, Dongguan, Shiyang (street); Yingqian District governs Yingqian Town, Yutian Town, Sanfeng, Xiayang, Yangyu, Luolian, Shouzhan, kengtian, Shiping, Chiyu, Daxi, panye; Heshang District governs Zhanggang Town, Heshang, Yutou, Baihu, Hujing, Diaofeng, Yanyu, Qingqiao, Shajing, Yunlu; Jinfeng District governs Jinfeng Town, Meihua Town, meihuahuan Shibi, Dahe Lingnan, Wenxi, Houfu, Fushan, Huayang, Sanxing, Hunan, Dongwu, Shidong, Minhe, Houyu, Dongsha (to be liberated township); Jiangtian District governs Guhuai Town, Jiangtian Town, Sanxi Town, Thanksgiving, Yangxia, Changlong, Shouzhi, Dazhi, Huanshan. The next year, Chengguan town was changed into Chengguan District.
In June 1958, the county was divided into 15 townships (towns): Chengguan, Yingqian, Shouzhan, Jinfeng, Luolian, Yutian, Tantou, Meihua, Hunan, Houyu, Shajing, Zhanggang, Jiangtian, Thanksgiving and Dongsha. In September of the same year, 15 townships (towns) were merged into 8 communes, and the county was divided into 88 production teams and 850 production teams.
In 1959, after adjusting the system, it was divided into 118 production teams and 805 production teams. In 1960, there were 94 production teams and 762 production teams. In 1964, Chengguan District was restored as Chengguan Town, which was subordinate to Chengguan commune. In January 1967, the leading body of the commune was renamed the production leading group. In the same year, Meihua, Hunan, Shouzhan and Zhanggang communes were added. So far, the county has 12 communes, 199 production teams, 2763 production teams, and four management areas.
In May 1968, revolutionary committees were set up in each commune. In January 1979, the Meihua commune set up Wenling commune with 11 brigades including Wenling. In May 1980, Yutian commune set up eight brigades, including machuo, to set up Sanshan commune. At this time, there were 12 communes in the county. In October 1980, the commune and the town Revolutionary Committee were renamed the commune management committee and the town people's government respectively. In September 1982, Chengguan town was renamed Wuhang Town, Chengguan commune was renamed Hangcheng commune, Sanshan commune was renamed Luolian commune. At this time, there were 12 communes and 1 town in the county.
In September 1984, the four communes of Jinfeng, Yingqian, Meihua and Tantou were changed into town system, and the rest were changed into township system, with a total of 11 townships and 5 towns. In July 1987, four villages including Houyu were set up in Tantou Town, and seven villages including Shouzhi and Dazhi were set up in Jiangtian township.
In February 1990, Yutian township was changed into town system; in December, Jiangtian, Heshang and Guhuai Township were changed into town system. In January 1992, Hangcheng town was changed into town system; in October, Shouzhan, Wenwusha, Shouzhi, Zhanggang, Hunan and Wenling towns were changed into town system.
In August 1994, Shouzhi town was renamed Matsushita town. So far, the county has 16 towns including Wuhang, Hangcheng and Yingqian, 2 townships of Luolian and Houyu, 238 village committees including Shiyang, Xiguan and Dongguan, and 9 residences including Hangxing, Shiyang and Xiguan
