The temple is named after Lingyan. It is one of the 18 ancient temples in Yandang. Surrounded by a group of peaks, majestic hunpang; towering ancient trees, the environment is absolutely quiet. The lower couplet of a couplet written by Yu Changlin in the Qing Dynasty vividly describes the scenery around it: "the left banner, the right Tianzhu, the back pingxia, thousands of Ren, the supernatural craftsmanship and the ghost axe, the unique scenery of Lingyan.
Lingyan Temple

The beginning of the construction
Lingyan temple, a famous Buddhist temple in China, was built in 479 in the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. Lingyan temple was rebuilt in the reign of Zhenguan of Tang Dynasty (627-649) by huichong, an eminent monk.
After many vicissitudes
Lingyan temple has been abandoned for several times. Most of the existing temples are built after the Song Dynasty.
