Such climate conditions have a profound impact on the industrial structure of the city, especially on agriculture. Abundant rainfall, long frost free period and sufficient sunshine make the crops in most parts of Huizhou reach one or two crops a year, and even three crops a year in some areas.

The nature reserve consists of hills below the contour line of 25m above sea level and tidal flats at low tide level, including hills, sandy beaches and tidal flats along the coast. It is a typical open sea area in subtropical zone, with annual average precipitation of 1402-2085mm, annual salinity of more than 30%, water temperature of 22 ℃ - 28 ℃ in summer and autumn, sandy seabed, transparent water quality and small waves. The sand grain size of the beach zone is 0.05-0.2 mm, with moderate size and loose and uniform sand quality. The nearshore water depth is 10-15m and the sea bottom is flat. The beach is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the environment is quiet.

Scientific research achievements

In 1988, the sea turtle Museum: the experiment of artificial breeding of small sea turtles was successful. The article "hatching of sea turtles and artificial breeding of small sea turtles" published by the museum won the second prize of scientific and technological achievements of Guangdong Province and the third prize of scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of agriculture. The Ministry of agriculture, animal husbandry and Fisheries of the "South China Sea Turtle Resources Survey" was undertaken to investigate seven Paracel Islands and Huidong Turtle Bay.

1990: a survey of surviving turtles in the South China Sea.

1992: analysis of spawning sites in harbor turtle National Nature Reserve. The migration and ecological status of sea turtles in harbor turtle National Nature Reserve were analyzed.

2001: the satellite tracking experiment was carried out in cooperation with the environmental monitoring center of Guangdong Ocean and fisheries administration, harbor turtle National Nature Reserve, South China Institute of endangered animals, South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Hong Kong Department of nature conservation.

2002: using beneficial microorganisms to cultivate juvenile turtles.

2004: completed WWF's "Huizhou turtle spawning habitat protection and community co management" and "young green turtle high density breeding" projects.

2005: the scientific research projects of "Research on the genetic structure of the world's endangered species -- green sea turtle" and "Research on the conservation and genetic diversity of green sea turtle (China)" were launched.

Historical evolution

The turtle Nature Reserve was established in June 1985. In March 1986, Huidong County Government issued a notice to delimit 4000 square meters of tidal flat and water surface of haiguiwan as a protected area, and issued a use certificate. In December 1986, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's government, it was upgraded to Huidong port provincial turtle reserve. Huidong harbor turtle nature reserve management station was established in July 1987 and upgraded to National Nature Reserve in October 1992 with the approval of the State Council. In 1993, it joined the network of biosphere reserves in China; in April 2002, with the approval of the provincial office, its management organization was upgraded to Huidong harbor turtle National Nature Reserve Management Bureau, which is under the department level system with 11 authorized personnel, and the funds are approved and issued by the provincial finance. In order to strengthen the supervision and management of marine law enforcement, with the approval of the Provincial Corps, the fishery administration duty station of the sea turtle reserve was established at the end of 2003.

Protected objects

Turtle is the general name of marine turtles. It is the only species living in the ocean among all turtles. It is widely distributed in the global waters except the Arctic Ocean. The evolution of sea turtles has a long history, which can be traced back to the Cretaceous period 75 million years ago. At that time, sea turtles were carnivorous. This kind of sea turtles is called ancient sea turtles. According to the archaeological fossils in North America, the size of ancient sea turtles is amazing, 3.5 meters long, and the size of cars. There are 2 families, 6 genera and 7 species of sea turtles in the world, which are turtles and leatherbacks. Turtles like tropical and temperate shallow waters. They breathe with their lungs. When they lay eggs, they have to return to the land. The staple food of different turtles is not the same. Most turtles are migratory. During the breeding season, they return from their foraging habitat to their spawning habitat. About 95% of them return to their original habitat to mate and lay eggs.

litchi

Litchi is the best fruit in Lingnan. Huizhou lychee is also famous for Su Dongpo's "eating 300 lychees a day, not resigning to be a native of Lingnan". Every March of the lunar calendar, Huizhou litchi will be listed, may and June is the peak period of litchi. At that time, the fruit shape is unique, the color is bright red and pleasing to the eye, the flesh shape is like Congzhi, sweet and fragrant, and the unique flavor of litchi is everywhere. The main varieties are: Huaizhi, Nuomici, Guiwei, Heiye, Feizixiao and so on. It is mainly produced in Huiyang, Huidong, BOLUO and Huicheng districts. Litchi is not only rich in nutrition, but also has the effect of intelligence, appetizing and invigorating. Therefore, many tourists, scholars and elegant officials gather in Huizhou every litchi production period, becoming a major event in Huizhou.

longan

Longan, also known as longan, and litchi are the best fruit trees in Sapindus family. Longan is not only delicious and sweet, but also rich in nutrition, containing a variety of longitudinal elements. Around August every year, a large number of fresh longan are on the market for people to pay for fresh food. In addition to fresh food, they can be processed into cans and refined into round meat. Longan meat (round meat) made from longan is a good tonic product for body deficiency, anemia, neurasthenia and postpartum blood deficiency. There are many varieties of longan in Huizhou. The main producing areas are Huiyang, Huidong, BOLUO and Huicheng.

Big round radish

Dayuan radish is a special product of the port. It is sweet and refreshing. If it falls to the ground, the whole radish will break into granules. Raw radish can be used as a fruit and has medicinal value. Cooked radish can add flavor to seafood and meat. All along, Dayuan radish, as a brand of vegetables exported to Huidong County, is well-known in Hong Kong and Macao markets.

Oncomelania hupehensis

Dog claw snail, also known as sea chicken feet. In Gangkou Town, where the nature reserve is located, there is a kind of snail for tourists to taste. Dogclaw snail, also known as haijijiao, lives in the crevices of islands and reefs where the current exchange is more frequent. Its growth environment requires high water quality. Like mangroves, it has become a symbol of maintaining a good ecological environment in this area. It has high trace elements and tastes fresh and sweet. It can be eaten in some famous restaurants in the town.
