Yunyan Lake

Characteristics of Yunyan Lake

Yunyan lake is an artificial lake formed after the founding of the people's Republic of China for water conservancy irrigation, damming and intercepting the water sources of Qishan, Wanshou and other mountain streams. It was built in 1975 with a total investment of 510000 yuan. It is 300 meters away from Qukou yankeng village, so it is also called yankeng reservoir. The upstream of the reservoir area is closely connected with Yuting town of Yi county. The lake covers an area of 5 square kilometers with 25 square kilometers of scenic spots around it

The main channel is 4km long and the lake branches are vertical and horizontal. It is not only beneficial for irrigation, power generation and breeding, but also for water sightseeing, swimming and fishing. The dam is 20 meters high and 90 meters wide. It is of masonry structure. There is a sidewalk on the dam, and nickel plated steel bars are installed for visitors to watch and fish.

Shiqiaoyan

It is one of the three natural stone arch bridges in the world. Shimen Temple

There is a Shimen temple in the north of shiqiaoyan. As early as the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty, monks lived in the nearby cave. In the fourth year of the Yuan Dynasty, lashiweishou in Shezhou donated money to build the Shimen temple here, and then added Qinglian temple and Guanyin hall. In the first year of Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty, it was built under the peak of Baiyue. In the reign of Huangyou, it was built the golden immortal Buddha Hall. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhan Ruoshui, Zengcheng, Guangdong, taught his disciples here and built Tianquan Academy. In the first year of Longqing in the Ming Dynasty, Zhan Dongtu expressed his love for the landscape of Baiyue, and was named "Baiyue mountain people" by himself. He left "Zhan Dongtu reading platform" and many stone inscriptions.
