White deer first
In the summer of 1934, when Chiang Kai Shek presided over the Lushan officer training regiment at Bailudong academy, he occasionally saw the beautiful scenery around Shannan Xiufeng Temple (Kaixian Temple), so he had the feeling that it was the most suitable place to run a school. Xiong Shihui, chairman of Jiangxi provincial government, took the opportunity to propose to hold a university here, which was approved by him.
In 1936, the national government allocated 1 million yuan as the foundation fund for the University. In 1937, the Lugouqiao incident happened, and the foundation plan was temporarily shelved because of the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war.
In 1939, the Japanese invaders invaded Jiangxi Province, and the Jiangxi provincial government moved to Taihe. Many students gathered inside and outside the province, and the plan to establish a university was put forward again. After the national government reviewed the plan, an additional fund of 1 million yuan was allocated. The Jiangxi provincial government invited well-known scholars from inside and outside the province to organize the Preparatory Committee of the University. Under the committee, there were three special committees on school building equipment, books and instruments, and education plan. The name of the University was initially designated as Jiangxi Provincial Zhongzheng University.
In April 1940, the executive yuan of the national government passed a resolution to name the University as National Chung Cheng University, directly under the leadership of the Ministry of education. In October, National Chung Cheng University opened in Xingling village, Chengjiang Town, Taihe County, which is the origin of its predecessor. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Zhongzheng university had a grand plan to take the area of Haihui temple in Lushan Mountain as its permanent site. At that time, Xiao Heng, the president of Zhongzheng University, went to survey and obtained 1000 mu of land for the first phase, but failed because of the change of the current situation.
Xingling Zhaoji
On June 1, 1940, the Preparatory Committee of Chiang Kai Shek University was officially established and set up in Xingling, Taihe suburb. During the work of the Preparatory Committee, the national government appointed Hu Xianjia (BU Zeng), a famous botanist and doctor of Harvard University, as the first president of Chung Cheng University. Hu Xianji arrived on October 1, 1940 and proposed to make the University "one of the best universities in China" at the inauguration ceremony. On October 4, more than 300 freshmen came to Xingling to report. On October 31, the opening ceremony of Zhongzheng University was held, which became the school anniversary day. During the period of Xingling, although the equipment was poor and the life was hard, a group of well-known scholars came to teach. At the beginning of its establishment, the school had 40 full-time teachers, including 21 professors and 19 associate professors; by the time Hu left his post in 1944, the number of full-time teachers had increased to 203, including 71 professors and 39 associate professors, and 1386 students. In the war of resistance against Japan, the teachers and students of Zhongzheng University, on the one hand, worked hard to save the country, on the other hand, organized Anti Japanese and national salvation activities in various forms.
On July 7, 1942, the Anti Japanese Field Service Regiment of Zhongzheng University was surrounded by Japanese cavalry in Shikou village, Xingan County. Professor Yao Mingda (microscopes), the head of the regiment, and Wu Changda, a member of the regiment, fought with the enemy barehanded and died bravely.
Southern Jiangxi Lizhi
In 1942, Chiang Ching Kuo, the Commissioner of Gannan administrative office, asked Zhongzheng university to move to Gannan, so the school set up a branch in Longling, Ganxian County in August. Except for the agricultural college, all the freshmen (including the freshmen majoring in normal education) of Chung Cheng University register at Longling branch, and the undergraduates transfer to the headquarters of Xingling school after finishing their first year courses at the branch. So far, Chung Cheng University has formed a school running pattern of one school, two places, three colleges (College of Arts and law, College of technology and College of Agriculture) and four specialized subjects (three-year teacher training, two-year administration, tax and Civil Engineering). It has also established Affiliated Experimental Schools and secondary schools.
In January 1945, the Jiangxi provincial government moved from Taihe to Ningdu, and Zhongzheng University withdrew. From Taihe to Xingguo, it trudged to Changsheng market. The university has been running in Xingling for four years, creating a history of holding a comprehensive university in Jiangxi. Longling branch was abolished and moved to Changsheng market in Ningdu with its headquarters. In the process of migration, due to the attack of the Japanese aggressors, the machinery, instruments, specimens, books and materials of the school suffered heavy losses, resulting in the later practice courses could not be opened. The school resumed classes in Changsheng in April. All the school buildings were borrowed from private houses, and 292 students graduated in June. In order to make up for the absence during the migration, the school did not have the summer vacation that year.
Victory in Wangcheng
In August 1945, the Anti Japanese war ended successfully. In October, Zhongzheng university decided to temporarily move to Nanchang, the provincial capital, with the former barracks of the Ministry of military and political affairs in Wangchenggang, the northern suburb as the temporary site, and wrote to the Ministry of education and the Ministry of military and political affairs for the record. Since the relocation in early November, the school products from Changsheng and Xingling have been transported to Nanchang by land and water, and the relocation work has been basically completed by the end of December.
On January 7, 1946, the school officially resumed classes. At the end of June, 314 students graduated from the third class. In Wangchenggang stage, the scale of the school has been expanded, the school equipment has gradually become complete, the academic atmosphere has become strong, and the overall school running level has been greatly improved. With the introduction of democratic ideas into the campus, a number of progressive societies were established one after another. Students of Zhongzheng University actively participated in the student movement against civil war, dictatorship and hunger in the Kuomintang controlled area.
On May 21, 1947, nearly 1000 students were stopped by more than 2000 soldiers and police on the way to the city to petition, and dozens of students were injured. After the May 21 massacre, the action of students at Zhongzheng University was supported by the whole country, which was highly praised by Xinhua news agency in its commentator's article on May 23. In the second half of 1948, Nanchang City Work Department of the Communist Party of China established an underground party organization in Zhongzheng University; in February 1949, the branch of Zhongzheng University of the Communist Party of China was officially established. On May 26, the students of Zhongzheng University welcomed the PLA into the campus, which opened a new page in the history of the University.
Blue and blue
In June 1949, Nanchang Military Control Commission took over Zhongzheng University. On August 1, National Chung Cheng University was renamed National Nanchang University.
In February 1950, the people's Government of Jiangxi Province approved that nearly one thousand mu of land in the east of the old aircraft repair factory on the Bank of Qingshan Lake in the east of the city should be used as the permanent site of Nanchang University. In November, the headquarters of Nanchang University moved to the new site, namely Qingshanhu campus, which is now located at the intersection of Beijing West Road and Wenjiao road. In 1952, the national large-scale adjustment of colleges and departments began, and some colleges and departments of Nanchang University were gradually adjusted to other colleges and universities inside and outside the province.
In October 1953, Jiangxi Normal University was established on the basis of the adjusted Nanchang University, which was abolished. Jiangxi Normal University inherited all the school buildings, most of the books and materials as well as some of the instruments and equipment of Nanchang University, and about one third of the teaching staff remained. In 1954, the middle school attached to the teachers college began to recruit students. In 1965, the Jing'an branch was established. The following year, all the teachers and students returned to the school headquarters to participate in the "Cultural Revolution".
Take a mountain trip back
In January 1969, influenced by the extreme left trend of thought in the "Cultural Revolution", Jiangxi Normal University was abolished, and Jinggangshan University was established with the normal university as the main body. Jiangxi University (liberal arts departments) and Jiangxi Institute of education were merged at the same time. Jinggangshan University is located in Nashan at the foot of Jinggangshan mountain. It was originally the location of Gongda Nashan branch. The majority of teaching staff disagreed with the move, but the criticism was not adopted by the provincial reform committee at that time. From September to October, the school moved to Nashan. In order to speed up the relocation and reduce the transportation pressure, the reform committee of Jinggangshan University put forward the idea of "loading lightly", requiring that only a small amount of urgently needed goods should be taken, and other goods might as well be discarded. This destructive measure was not implemented because the masses opposed it. In the process of relocation, the school property suffered great losses, but many precious books and materials were spontaneously preserved by the staff.
In April 1970, Jinggangshan University enrolled the first batch of students, divided into student classes and cadre rotation classes. In April 1971, Jinggangshan University began to recruit workers, peasants and soldiers. In October 1972, Jinggangshan University was abolished, Jiangxi Normal University was restored and moved back to Nanchang. Before the resumption of school, the school made a decision to "re hook" all the decentralized and transferred teachers and cadres with the school, which made the school take back the original teaching staff in a short period of time. When Qingshanhu campus was restored, it was completely changed: the school building was occupied by 66 other units, the teaching building was transformed into a production workshop, the track and field field was transformed into a paddy field, and the library was used as a warehouse. After returning to school, after years of hard work, the units that occupied the school gradually withdrew from the school.
In 1977, the college entrance examination system was restored, and Qingshanhu campus ushered in the first four-year undergraduate program after the "Cultural Revolution". In 1978, the school began to recruit graduate students. In 1981, the major of ancient Chinese literature in the Department of Chinese was identified by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as one of the first majors with the right to confer master's degree.
In October 1983, Jiangxi Normal University was renamed Jiangxi Normal University. On October 31, 2000, the school held its 60th anniversary celebration in Qingshanhu campus. In April 2003, Jiangxi Financial Staff University (Jiangxi bank school) was incorporated into the school, and its original site was renamed Qingyunpu campus of Jiangxi Normal University.
Yao Lake string song
Jiangxi Normal University began to expand its enrollment scale in 1999. At the beginning of the new century, Jiangxi Normal University has entered the ranks of universities with 10000 students. After more than a year's investigation around Nanchang, Jiangxi Normal University decided to build a new campus on the West Bank of Yaohu Lake in 2002.
The foundation laying ceremony of the new campus was held on December 24, 2002, and Jiangxi Normal University became a doctoral degree awarding unit in June 2003. In 2003, Jiangxi University of Finance and staff (Jiangxi bank school) was incorporated
. In October 2003, the first phase of the project was completed with 8000 new workers
