Yingge Ceramic Museum is located in Wenhua Road, Yingge District, Xinbei City, near the newly established Yingge Vocational College and facing Yingge river. It opened on November 26, 1989 and is the first professional ceramic Museum in China. Xinbei Yingge Ceramic Museum and Yingge ceramic park cover an area of 12 hectares. The overall architectural style is simple and natural. The main building is planned to be an exhibition hall with three floors above the ground and two floors below the ground, with a total area of 13812.37 square meters. Collection
At present, the collection has more than 2500 pieces. Based on the history of Taiwan's ceramics, the collection includes early civil ceramics, modern ceramic works at home and abroad, and Yingge's local ceramic products, as well as relevant literature. It also has a digital collection system, which selects some of the collections from the collection classification for planar or 3D ring object photography, with appreciation and interpretation, and classifies them by theme. It is the epitome of the rich face of Taiwan Ceramics.
Development history
Yingge Ceramic Museum was proposed to be built in 1988 and officially opened in 2000. The building of the museum is three stories high and two stories underground. The architectural form of the museum is changed by clear water mold, steel frame and transparent glass space. The whole building is simple and pure. There is a ceramic Park in the back of the museum, with the themes of "pottery and earth", "pottery and fire", "pottery and water", "pottery and light", "pottery and wind", "pottery and green" and "pottery and man", integrating the infinite possibilities of pottery into the natural environment. Both the museum and the park are designed by jianxueyi's Zhujian United architects. The main building plan is based on the principle of minimalism to create exhibition and activity space close to works of art.
Focusing on the collection, exhibition and education promotion of Taiwan's ceramic culture, the museum will hold various activities, exhibitions, studies, etc. as an exchange platform for experience inheritance, and enhance Yingge's ceramic industry and local image. Since 2003, Yingge International Ceramic Art Festival (Yingge International Ceramic carnival) has been held in the Ceramic Museum. It is one of the large-scale tourism festival activities in Taiwan under the guidance of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of communications. The contents include ceramic theme exhibition, demonstration performance, stage performance, ceramic experience, cooperative ceramic art and other activities.
Yingge Ceramic Art Park
Yingge Ceramic Art Park is located in the rear of Yingge Ceramic Museum in Xinbei city. It is designed to show the diversified styles of ceramics. The four squares of wind, water, earth and fire are formed by combining generative elements with nature, and integrated with ceramic elements. It was opened in January 2008.
Combining the elements of ceramic works with nature and landscape, the four areas of wind, water, earth and fire are formed. Yingge kiln factory features four corner kiln, Baozi kiln and antique Bagua kiln. Plan water area and children's interactive experience facilities.
