Eighteen the royal temple originated from Kangxi in 23 years. A fishing boat from Chinese mainland sank at the West Bay beach. 18 crew members finally landed on the west coast of the Gulf and reclaimed in the West Bay area, but later they were mistaken for the rebels in Fengshan county and were collectively killed. The residents nearby remembered that they were good neighbors on weekdays, but they were killed for their kindness. So they collected their bodies and built a low ancestral hall at the foot of the entrance of xiziwan. After that, because the gods appeared to protect the people, the local residents asked the Jade Emperor to be granted the title of "Eighteen Princes". In 1983, the temple was rebuilt and moved to the present British Consulate of the former Qing Dynasty.

The temple of eighteen princes originated in 1684, the 23rd year of Kangxi reign. It is said that in the Qing Dynasty, 17 Fuzhou rich gentry went to Putuo Mountain to offer incense together by boat. Unfortunately, they were killed by shipwreck. Their bodies drifted to the coast of Shimen. Only one loyal dog survived, but still sacrificed his life for the Lord. Local residents felt that he was righteous, so they buried the loyal dog with 17 people in a tomb, and built a temple to worship them That is to say, the stories of the eighteen princes' appearing constantly spread out, which opened up a great reputation.

There are dragon shaped stone carvings on the stone pillars at the entrance of the temple, and large stone carvings of deified figures above the mountain gate. Because of the saying that there is a Yin Temple (Forbidden place for lovers) in the eighteen princes' temple, it is specially marked in the temple gate: Yang Temple, the main god of the temple, "Arctic Xuantian God.".
Historical evolution
In 1684, a fishing boat from the mainland was caught in a storm and sank on the beach of xiziwan. After a battle of life and death at sea, 18 crew members finally got out of danger and landed on the shore of xiziwan (named yangluwan or yangziwan at that time). The area was desolate, forested, and infested with mosquitoes. The early immigrants did not want to reclaim it. The eighteen ancestors united and worked hard to reclaim it. Later, officials of Fengshan county government mistook him as a traitor and killed him collectively. The residents nearby, remembering that he was a good neighbor and good Samaritan, were killed unjustly. They gathered his body and built a low ancestral hall at the foot of the entrance of Shoushan mountain to admire his spirit of life and death and reclamation. After that, their deeds of saving the poor continued to spread. Although they died unjustly, they performed outstanding deeds of helping and protecting the common people. The people of the world felt the benevolent spirit of saving the world, and commemorated the virtues of their ancestors, so they were honored as "Eighteen men". Later, he moved heaven and earth because of his benevolent deeds, and Nan Kun played for five thousand years in Tianfu, asking the Jade Emperor to confer the title of "Eighteen Princes".
It is said that when Chiang Kai Shek was stationed in xiziwan, he went for a walk in the old temple, followed the adjutant to find out the classics, and ordered his temple to be "Lingxing hall" in order to respect the spirit of his ancestors. When the Japanese occupied Taiwan, they opened Kaohsiung port and dug the Shoushan entrance, which is now the xiziwan tunnel. Disasters often occurred during the construction, resulting in numerous casualties. Later, some people proposed to the Japanese government and contractors, praying to the eighteen princes for their blessing, and finally completed these two arduous projects, laying the foundation for the development of Kaohsiung's trade, economy, tourism and transportation The power of the eight kings. Due to the excavation of the xiziwan tunnel, the ancestral hall of the ancestors was jointly invested by the Japanese and my compatriots, and moved to the foot of Shoushan mountain on the xiziwan Beach (now the Sun Yat sen University is filled up as a sports ground) to build a temple, which will be worshiped by the world forever. It has been more than 300 years since the eighteen princes built temples for worshiping, and their incense has flourished and spread to the present day. In 1980, Sun Yat sen University in Taiwan was expanded on the Bank of Xizi Bay. The temple is located in the campus. The nature of the temple is different from that of the campus. In order to coordinate the development of education and not affect the expansion of the University, the temple was moved to its current site (No. 18, Lianhai Road, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City) and built. The construction work was broken in 1982 and completed on September 16, 1984. The majestic temples and the green waves of Kaohsiung harbor reflect each other.
