Meidaizhao, located 80 kilometers to the east of Baotou City, was first built in the Qing long period of Ming Dynasty. It was an important center for the spread of Lamaism to Mongolia. Meidaizhao is close to mountains and rivers with pleasant scenery and unique architectural style. It is modeled on the Han style of the Central Plains and integrated with the Mongolian and Tibetan styles. It is a lama temple with "the combination of city and temple, people and Buddha living together".
