Wanfu nunnery is located at No.5, Lane 317, 2nd Minzu Road, Central District, Tainan City. It was originally the residence of Ruan Jun, the Minister of Zheng Chenggong in Ming Dynasty. Built in the Yongli period of Ming Dynasty, it is listed as a class III historic site.
In the 10th year of Yongli reign of Ming Dynasty (1858 AD), Ruan Jun guarded Zhoushan, but he was defeated by the enemy, so he died. Three years later, Mrs. Ruan Jun, the descendants of Ming clan and the old people came to Taiwan with Zheng Jing, and settled in the back of yiyuanzi Garden of Ningjing palace. She lived a long life of worshiping sutras, worshiping Buddhism and eating fast. After his death, his residence was changed to "Lady Ruan Temple", which was rebuilt in the 11th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty and renamed "Wanfu Temple".
At present, the exterior decoration of the wall is whitewashed, destroying the historic site. In the temple, there are two important historical relics, one is the tablet of "sensing Zhaocheng" in the 22nd year of Daoguang, and three tablets inscribed by Lin Chaoying in the 8th year of Jiaqing.
In the 61 years of the Republic of China, it was rebuilt into a new temple on the second floor. It was rebuilt in the 1980s of the Republic of China. Because the wall is still an old building, it still has preservation value.
