Majishan Port is named for its location on Majishan island. Majishan Port is only 10 minutes' drive away from the county. It is 73 nautical miles from Zhoushan Island, 30.8 nautical miles from Luchao port in Nanhui, Shanghai, and 59.2 nautical miles from Wusongkou. Originally, Majishan was a suspended Island, one kilometer away from Sijiao island. Later, due to the construction of the port, a bridge was built between Majishan and Sijiao island. On Maji Island, the rock head of the gate stretches out to the sea. To the south, there is a steep cliff with a height of more than 30 meters. At the bottom of the cliff is a Hidden Reef. Not far from the cliff, there is a natural arched cave with a length of 30 meters from East to west and a height of more than 10 meters. It looks like a towering gate, crenels and archery towers. This adds another style to the port full of steel flavor.

Majishan Port of Baosteel
It was started in October 1998 and put into trial production in May 2002. At that time, the throughput of the first phase of the project was designed to be 25 million tons, which actually reached more than 30 million tons, making it the largest ore transfer port in Asia. With the second phase project put into operation on October 27, 2007, the current throughput has risen to more than 50 million tons, and it has become the largest ore transfer port in the world. It mainly stops at large international ships transporting high-quality iron ore from Brazil, Australia, India and other countries. It's only 75.3km away from the estimated channel, which means that these international giant ships can get to us by turning from the international channel. It's very convenient. Baosteel's Majishan Port docked with the first foreign ship, the "aresausa" of Cyprus nationality. On September 7, 2007, Baosteel's Majishan Port docked with the Norwegian bulk carrier "bogstein", one of the world's largest bulk carriers and carrying more than 350000 tons of iron ore. The "bogstein" is 342 meters long and 63.5 meters wide, with a full load of more than 360000 tons. This is the largest bulk carrier with the actual carrying capacity of a single vessel in China so far. In addition, in order to facilitate the berthing and anchoring of incoming and outgoing freighters, they also found two anchorages in the port construction. One is the inner anchorage, which is located in the southeast of dahuanglong, and can meet the requirements of two 200000 DWT bulk freighters and a 35000 DWT freighter berthing at the same time; the other is in Langgang mountain of Shengshan Town, which can meet the requirements of two 300000 DWT ships berthing at the same time.
