The South Gate of Dingzhou, also known as Yingtai gate, is a cultural relic protection unit in Hebei Province. It was built in the early years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 600 years. At that time, Dingzhou governor Ping'an built the old city, demolished temples, built city walls, destroyed temple bells, built weapons, built a new city wall of 13 kilometers, opened four doors in the East, West, South and North, and built urn city and moon city respectively. On top of the gate, double eaves towers were built to watch the enemy and command the battle. The inner gate is majestic and magnificent. The city is 12 meters high, the tower is 8 meters high, and the wall is 22 meters wide. After Ming Wanli, Qing Kangxi, Yongzheng, Daoguang years have repair. With the development of history, there are only some walls and three gates.
In 1999, Dingzhou municipal government invested more than 1 million yuan to reinforce and repair the south gate and restore an inner gate building, which changed the status quo of the dilapidated old gate. In front of visitors, there are banners and majestic gates. Visitors can have a panoramic view of Dingzhou.
