Historical evolution
Tongren wutunxia temple was founded in 1385 and opened in 1987. It is a state-level cultural relic protection unit. There are 97 monks in the temple, and the master of the temple is the living Buddha "Zhige orenbacang". During the period of chirebajin in Tubo, the Tibetan army stationed at Xubian and built a small temple, which was called "magongniangwa" by later generations and was called Sakya Monastery. In the Ming Dynasty, Dong Keduo jijiacuo, the master of the first xiaxiacang gadanjaco, once expanded it and converted it to Gelug school. In the middle of the 17th century, zhigerioba, a disciple of gadanjaco, moved to maoga Temple (the temple has long since disappeared, and the site is said to be Tashan in the lower part of Wutun), and merged with magongniangwa to form the later wutunxia temple. Since then, the temple has been repaired or rebuilt three times.
After 1958, most of the monasteries in wutunxia temple were destroyed. In 1980, the temple was opened to the public, renovated and rebuilt, The main buildings of wutunxia temple are the Mahatma hall, Maitreya hall, zongkaba hall, Longwang hall, Qianshou Guanyin hall and vajraya hall built in 1703. There are eight white pagodas outside the temple, named "eight pagodas of liberation", Shilun Vajrayana pagoda, Gadan pagoda and zhuanjing tube. Three sides open air Amitabha
Amitabha Buddha on three sides in wutunxia temple is the largest open-air statue of Amitabha Buddha on three sides built on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau in the western part of China by the great master of wutunxia temple when he went to Jinding, Emei Mountain, Sichuan Province in 2005 to worship Puxian Bodhisattva with the blessing of Puxian Bodhisattva.
Starting from October 15, 2010, the site selection and foundation laying ceremony of the three side Amitabha Buddha were held. Coral, pearl, agate, gold and silver, gems, etc. were installed on the base of the hall, representing prayer and auspiciousness, bringing joy, auspiciousness and good fortune to the world. On the day of the installation, there was an incredible image, and there was a little snow like lotus in the sky And the local believers also brought lucky white yak milk. White is the most auspicious image in Buddhism. It's the icing on the cake and incredible.
Gengdeng admired master's continuous efforts in practicing, chanting and praying. All the disciples of the temple were blessed every day. In five years, they traveled all over the country. After five years of hard work, the Buddha statue was finally completed in October 2015.
All the Buddha statues in Amitabha hall were designed by Guru gengdeng, who had never studied architecture. The guru is grateful for the blessings of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas every day. Under the blessings of each Buddha and Bodhisattvas, all the patterns are naturally visualized in his mind.
The Buddha statue of Amitabha built this time is the only largest open-air three faced Buddha on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, and the shape of the Buddha Hall is second to none in China. The style of the main hall is based on the overall picture of the Western Paradise.
The first floor of the main hall is 22 meters wide and 4.5 meters high. In the middle is the seated statue of Amitabha, the leader of the Western Paradise, with a height of 2 meters; on the right is the Green Tara, the incarnation of Guanyin Bodhisattva; on the left is the lamp burning Buddha, with a height of 1.6 meters; around the statue are the statues of master zongkaba, Sakyamuni, four arm Guanyin, Manjusri Bodhisattva, White Tara, big white umbrella cover Bodhisattva, Vajrayana, longevity Buddha, etc. There are 1000 statues of Amitabha Buddha in a circle around the hall. In addition, there are Tibetan Tripitaka Sutra, Chinese version of Qianlong Tripitaka Sutra, Amitabha Sutra, wuliangshou Sutra, master zongkaba's Bodhi Daodi Guanglun and five great treatises. This floor is specially used for chanting sutras and circling Buddhas.
In the corridor outside the hall, there are 57 1.7-meter-high Sutra turning tubes, each of which contains more than 50 mantras of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, including 100 million six character mantra, 100 character mantra, 35 Buddha confession, liberation mantra, longevity mantra, White Tara mantra, longevity mantra, Guanyin mantra, Vajra mantra, and Puxian mantra. A circle of the warp drum can eliminate karma and increase wisdom and prosperity. The Buddha, Bodhisattva and Scripture in the hall are boundless blessings.
The second floor hall is 3.5 meters high and 14 meters wide. It is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha in the center, the Tathagata Buddha in the past on the right and Maitreya Buddha in the future on the left. Around it are Vajrayana Bodhisattva and the mother of zunshou Buddha. Inside it are the Tripitaka Sutra, the heart Mantra of Amitabha Buddha and 48 great wishes. Around the hall are the Thousand Buddhas of Amitabha Buddha, and inside it is for meditation. A circle outside the hall is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva of Putuo Mountain, Manjusri Bodhisattva of Wutai Mountain, dizang Bodhisattva of Jiuhua Mountain, Puxian Bodhisattva of Emei Mountain, eight Bodhisattvas, longevity Buddha, White Tara, yellow Tara, and five sided Buddha. All the great works will receive the blessing and achievements of Buddha and Bodhisattva.
The third floor hall is 3 meters in height and 9 meters in width. It is dedicated to the God of wealth Huang and the God of wealth Wu Lu. It is dedicated to five sutras. The hall is surrounded by Amitabha's Thousand Buddhas. This floor is the Sutra Pavilion for practicing scriptures. Outside the hall is the peacock of paradise.
The whole hall shows the artistic style of Regong Thangka, and the architectural color also highlights the characteristics and essence of the birthplace of Thangka. Each design is the charm of Buddhism auspicious design.
In front of the hall, there is a pair of children praying for the white marble lion. In front of the Buddha line is the prince Buddha of Sakyamuni Buddha's bathing Buddha Festival on the eighth day of April, surrounded by lotus flowers, flowers and birds of different styles. The whole represents the Western Paradise.
At the top of the three storey hall is a very solemn three sided bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha. The overall height of the Buddha is 19 meters, the head of the Buddha is 2.4 meters high, 1.8 meters wide, the shoulder is 4.9 meters wide, the height of the Buddha is 10.8 meters, the backlight is 12.1 meters high, 1.2 meters wide, the lotus seat is 2 meters high, 8.3 meters in diameter, the umbrella pillar is 4.5 meters high, 2 meters in diameter, the umbrella cover is 1.2 meters high, 3 meters in diameter. The lotus seat of the Buddha is exposed on the surface, the backlight is exposed on both sides, and the umbrella pillar and umbrella cover are exposed.
All the exposed surfaces of the Buddha statue are decorated with gold foil with 98% gold content. 690 square meters of gold foil are used to complete the whole process.
This Buddha is the largest three sided open-air Amitabha statue on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. The one in front of the statue is the blessing fingerprint, the one on the right is the preaching fingerprint, and the one on the left is the greeting fingerprint. The three faced Buddha represents "Buddha, Dharma and monk". The three faced Buddha is very solemn and kind on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. When people see the Buddha, they are happy and free.
