Jingmen museum is a comprehensive museum of Social Sciences under the jurisdiction of the province. Jingmen museum is located in the west of the north section of Xiangshan Avenue in Jingmen City, Hubei Province, covering an area of 15.72 mu. Jingmen museum is administratively subordinate to Jingmen Bureau of culture, sports, press and publication, a vice County institution. At present, there are 68 cadres and workers, including 3 with senior professional title, 3 with deputy senior professional title, 52 with intermediate professional title and 10 with assistant professional title. There are ten internal organizations, including office, planning and finance department, Institute of cultural relics and archaeology, exhibition department, security department, collection keeping department, industrial management department, Guodian Chu bamboo slips Research Center, urban cultural relics management office and mass work department.
Development history
Founded in 1984, Jingmen museum is now located at No.19 Xiangshan Avenue, Jingmen City. It is a comprehensive museum integrating cultural relics and archaeology, cultural relics collection and cultural relics display. The main buildings in the museum include the main building of cultural relics display and the Museum of cultural relics. The main building of cultural relics display is an antique building, covering an area of 1000 square meters, with a display area of more than 3000 square meters. The two ends protrude outward and the middle part retracts inward. Glass tube tile on the roof, cornice angle, simple and elegant. Before 1984, there was only one cultural relics working group in Jingmen County Cultural Museum. In 1983, Jingmen county and city were merged and upgraded into a provincial city. After that, the city museum was set up, temporarily taking advantage of the ancient architecture of Lu Fuzi Temple. In 1987, the exhibition building began to be built at 19 Xiangshan Avenue, covering an area of 11340 square meters. On November 8, 1993, the exhibition building was completed and officially opened to the public.
With the development of cultural and Museum undertakings, the municipal government invested 1.5 million yuan in 2001 to build the "treasure Museum", with a construction area of 1200 square meters, which was used to display the "Warring States female corpses and Guodian Chu bamboo slips"; in 2010, the central cultural relics warehouse with a construction area of 2068 square meters and an investment of 4.2 million yuan was built and put into use; in 2010, the central cultural relics warehouse was built The cultural relics management office of Jingmen City, located at No.4 Baiyun Avenue, was incorporated into the Jingmen Museum, and its Taoist cultural complex, baiyun temple, covers an area of 15 mu.

Industrial Management Division
Responsible for the environmental sanitation in the museum, "Three Guarantees in front of the door", and responsible for the maintenance of water and electricity in the office area of the museum, family building and facade rental.
Collection keeping department
To be responsible for the preservation and protection of the cultural relics in the museum. It includes daily maintenance, registration, card building, filing, restoration and protection of the collection, and standardized management of cultural relics in and out of the library according to the prescribed procedures.
Mass Work Department
It undertakes the work of museum audience reception, tourist guidance, exhibition explanation, etc., carries out all kinds of social education activities in cooperation with festivals, and completes the construction of "patriotism education base", "national defense education base" and other bases.

Collection
There are more than 60000 cultural relics in the collection of Jingmen Museum, and more than 700 cultural relics above the third level. The total amount of cultural relics and the first level cultural relics are in the forefront of municipal museums. In particular, the collection of "Guodian Chu bamboo slips" and "Warring States female corpses" has a significant impact in the country and even at home and abroad. "Guodian Chu bamboo slips" is recognized as "the world's earliest original book" by academic circles at home and abroad; "Warring States female corpse" is 200 years earlier than the Western Han female corpse unearthed in Mawangdui, Changsha, known as "China's first wet corpse", which is identified as a national treasure by the State Administration of cultural relics.
Special exhibition of Chu tombs in Baoshan shows the etiquette and music system and luxurious life of the aristocratic class of Chu at that time, and reflects the extraordinary creativity and imagination of the working people.
The exhibition of Warring States women's corpses and Guodian bamboo slips shows that the Warring States women's corpses in guojiagang are the best preserved wet corpses in China, and the silk unearthed from the tombs is another "Silk treasure house" of the state of Chu. Guodian bamboo slips are the earliest original books in the world, most of which are lost books of the pre Qin period.
The exhibition of fine cultural relics shows the rich connotation of more than 60 fine cultural relics in Jingmen.
A total of 804 bamboo slips with 13000 characters were unearthed in October 1993. All the 18 Confucian and Taoist works in Guodian bamboo slips are academic classics in the pre Qin period, which are known as the earliest original books in the world.
The female corpse of the Warring States period, more than 2300 years ago, is the earliest preserved wet corpse in China.
Lacquer trousseau in the picture of greeting guests and traveling lacquer trousseau is a utensil for holding toilet articles. There are the most well preserved lacquer paintings of pre Qin period, which represent the high achievement of Chinese painting art in pre Qin period.
Special activities
Taking the excavation process of the Chu tomb in Baoshan as the main content, this paper vividly reproduces the scenes of the life of the Chu aristocracy in the Warring States period and the huge funeral scene after the death of the tomb owner in the form of film and television projection and on-the-spot answers by experts of cultural relics and archaeology.

1. The basic exhibitions of Jingmen museum are open to the public free of charge all the year round.
2. Opening hours: 9:00 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday. Monday is the closing day for maintenance, not open to the public (except legal holidays).
