Chunyou ancient city site
Chunyou ancient city site is located in Yanshan, Qingju Town, 15 kilometers south of Gaoping District. The Dajiang graben is located in the front and the cliffs of the peaks stand in the back. It is one of the "eight pillars of defense against Mongolia" in the late Southern Song Dynasty.
In the third year of song Chunyou (1243), Yu Jie, a Sichuan governor, built a city on the top of Qingju mountain. In the ninth year of song Chunyou (1249), Shunqing government moved to Qingju mountain stone city to fight against the invasion of the Mongolian army. Chunyou old city and Hechuan fishing city played an important role in the anti yuan war. On December 15, 1994, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit by Nanchong Municipal People's government.
