National key cultural relics
In 1988, the second building complex of Taining Shangshu was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit.
Close to the east of the book of history, Shide hall is an exquisite ancient building in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties, covering an area of more than 7000 square meters, with a history of more than 500 years. The main house is a series of six hard mountain style wooden frame buildings with Gables facing east and West. It is 79 meters wide, 40 meters deep and has a construction area of more than 3200 square meters. Especially the fifth building, it has a simple architectural style, extensive materials and a long history. The hall completely preserves the architectural mode of "three halls and nine buildings" in Ming Dynasty. It is rough in materials, simple in style, continuous in halls, safe and comfortable. It shows the architectural art of Ming Dynasty dwellings and has important historical, scientific and artistic value. In June 2001, shidetang was incorporated into the second building complex of Shangshu and listed as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Shide hall, together with shangshudi and Li's ancestral hall built in the late Ming Dynasty and the middle Qing Dynasty, constitutes shangshudi building complex, with a total area of 12000 square meters. The complex contains ancient official residence, civil residence, ancestral hall, living room, auxiliary room, large courtyard and other functional buildings. It maintains the architectural style of different periods of Ming, Qing and the Republic of China, condenses the living scenes of ancient buildings, and has exquisite architectural art. It is one of the most classic and complete ancient residential boutique building communities in Jiangnan, which is also rare in the country.
